The property is such a relaxing resort. The staff is top notch and very helpful. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the private beach is a plus, as are the two sculpted swimming pools. The suites are spacious and clean and even the outdoor bathrooms are pretty! My family and I did enjoy our stay. One thing to note is that there are no lifts - we requested a change from a third floor room to one on the ground floor as my mother is elderly, and the front desk staff was able to get us one right away. If you have someone in your group who has mobility challenges, you might want to make the same request. The next morning at breakfast (included in the stay), the executive assistant came to ask if we were satisfied with the room change and if there was anything else we needed. That’s good service!

Amazing resort!

We had a wonderful stay - the resort location is peaceful and stunning on its own private beach with amazing views. The staff are attentive and friendly. The food and drinks were great. The sea view room was amazing, especially at sunset!

Racist and rude staff

Where to start! Upon check in, had to wait ages to get a rolm even though we had a young baby. And the room they gave was disgusting as they are renovating some rooms - room was dirty and we had to ask a few times to get it cleaned. No high chair at breakfast until we were about to leave. The staff are very rude - esp Syafirah! Had an issue until the manager came and he gave us some insight on how the hotel has just been taken over so staff need retrainjng. Totally not acceptable for a 5* resort.

I liked the amazing beach, no single-use plastics, expansive pools. Rooms were spacious and comfortable and clean. The hotel also offered a lot of complimentary activities, especially for kids, which were very thoughtful. For improvement, the hotel can consider more environmentally friendly practices, such as reducing boating activities around sensitive mangroves, not feeding wildlife or offering tours that feed wildlife (eagles, monkeys, squirrels), and improving wait times for meals and using more healthy ingredients for meals (e.g., less salt).

The bathroom had poor ventilation and a number of small flies always inside somehow. The bedrooms were spacious clean and comfortable. Service at the resort was impeccable. Very friendly. Especially our breakfast hostess Syira, world class hospitality and her sincerity shone throughout.

This hotel is located on a beautiful beach, perfect for swimming. It's almost a private beach as there are no other resorts/ restaurants in the area. The piano music and bubbly served at breakfast made it special. The rooms are on 3 levels without a lift but the staff helps with luggage. The dinners are a bit quiet . Some live music would be great.

Tanjung Rhu is a truly exceptional five-star resort, perfect for those who appreciate quiet, spacious surroundings, natural beauty, immaculately kept gardens, and personalized care. With views of Thailand across the Andaman Sea, ten days felt far too short. This is an expertly managed, outstanding resort, one we will undoubtedly return to. Access to the beach was good and the garden was also nice. One thing I was disappointed about is the smell of the bathroom and water quality of the bathtub. The bathroom always smelled like sewage and the smell came all over the room . And the closer of water in bathtub was brown.

I highly recommend Tanjung Rhu resort, for a little slice of paradise. The lush, tranquil setting is unmatched, away from the hustle and bustle of more touristy areas of Langkawi. The outlook from the rooms and beach is simply breathtaking, overlooking a private beach on the Andaman sea, and with beautiful rugged islands just adding extra visual interest. The resort itself is wonderful, huge rooms, comfortable beds, incredible buffet breakfast, great facilities, particularly the enormous pools. It’s a 5 min walk to the jetty where fabulous mangrove boat tours of the Kilim geoforest park depart, but nestled away in its own expansive setting, so you feel exclusive and pampered. Most of all, the staff are friendly and welcoming, from the front of house staff, to the servers in the restaurants, to the staff maintaining the beautiful gardens. You should splash out and stay here, you won’t regret it.
