Summer 2025 Family Trip

⸻We had an amazing stay at the cabin—everything was perfect from the cozy decor to the peaceful surroundings. The space was clean, comfortable, and truly felt like a home away from home. Our only small complaint was that it felt a bit dark inside due to limited lighting. Otherwise, it was an incredible experience, and we’d love to come back!

This place is AMAZING. It IS HUGE, clean, and the right mix of modern/cabinesque feel. The mountain view was gorgeous, and it was conveniently located! Would stay here again!

Appreciation for the Mothers in our family

Excellent. This property is what it advertises. A mountain view lodge, with clear view across quiet mountains (almost no house lights seen at night). The lodge is a short drive off main Lake Lure road, up an easy (gated) well maintained road (no scary drop-offs). We took our mother, grandmother, three aunts for a treat vacation. The main level master bedroom is large and very spacious bathroom, saved our grandmother from climbing stairs. Upstairs roomy two bedrooms with jack-and-jill bath also worked out very well. We used both lower level small queen room and bunk room as well. No one felt cramped and had space to find their own quiet spots. Kitchen was adequately stocked and we cooked several times. Recliner sofa seats in main lounge area allowed us to relax in evening and watch movies on large TV. Large jacuzzi with many jets was much appreciated. Wrap-around deck on main and large lower level allow ample outside space. Would definitely visit again. No complaints, my only suggestions are couple of hooks in lower level bathroom to hang robes on and some more lighting for that downstairs games room. Second fridge in lower kitchen so useful for drinks and snacks. Locally, large Ingles supermarkets about 3 miles away is so handy. Closeness to Chimney Rock and L. Lure beach is great. We made easy trip to Hendersonville twice as well, close enough for shopping trip with lunch or dinner.

Bear Castle

The house has a stunning view. It feels much larger than described and is truly a beautiful house. Definitely a luxury mountain home. Loved the shower and very large jacuzzi tub in the master bath. Being able to sleep with the little waterfall in the background was so relaxing! The home is also close to the town and only minutes from the grocery store or dining. Property management was able to accommodate an early arrival and check-in and out was a very easy process. I would definitely stay again!

Magical Christmastime getaway at Bear's Castle

We had a wonderful time staying at Bear's Castle. Our Christmas family gathering had nine members from around the south gather to enjoy the mountains of North Carolina. The cabin was clean and ready for our arrival from the start. The game room and basement floor were perfect for our three teenagers who spent almost all of their time downstairs while the adults enjoyed the living spaces and kitchen. All the amenities were as advertised and we will be excited to return at a future date

An hour from Biltmore

We chose this location because it’s close to Biltmore. However, we also enjoyed a day visiting Chimney Rock, which is only 10 minutes from Bear Castle. The house is amazing. Plenty of room…cozy at the same time. With the “arcade” on the lower floor we talked about bringing our grandchildren on our next visit. I highly recommend Bear Castle!

Amazing!!

Will definitely stay here again. Clean, comfortable and updated. The kids loved the basement and played for hours. We had trouble with the hot tub heating and the property manager came within a couple hours of us calling and fixed it. Great place!!!

Beautiful home!!!

My family had a wonderful time staying at this new home in Lake Lure. Everything was great other than a couple very small things... The man-made stream did not work (landscapers tried to fix it but it stopped as soon as they left)as well as the Pinball machine is broken (small piece has become dislodged and blocking ball return)and I love Pinball. But lots of other games to keep everyone intertained.
