Comfortable beds. Pool is great and heated. Quick response for small questions. Easy walk to beach or easy to park in the provided lot when going to beach. Access to stores. We took a 10 month old baby and it had high chair, gate for steps and some pool toys. We recommend!

Beautiful house, attentive host

The house was beautiful, comfortable and clean. It was clear they've sprayed for pests - it was really nice to not have to contend with mosquitoes or other bugs. Our family really enjoyed our stay and absolutely recommend it for yours!

Lovely Home

This is a lovely large home. It has a master suite on each of the 3 floors. It is a split level design offering a lot of privacy. The home was well stocked and we had everything we needed. I would recommend this home.

FAMILY VACATION DREAM HOUSE

Our hosts, Chuck and Vicki are very gracious, kind and helpful. Our family of 9 spent a wonderful week at the beach and at a very beautiful house with all the amenities of home and a wonderful pool, the childeren grew fins they spent so much time in the pool. What a wonderful week and having this beautiful home as our home base was perfect. Thank you so very much!

A Very Chill Christmas Eve to New Years Day!

Our annual family beach vacation is really special and homey because of this wonderful well appointed home. The owners are attentive to our group and make sure every thing is working and we are fine. The house is clean and the furnishings are in great condition. Outside areas to chill are on every floor.

This home was perfect for our annual family vacation in OBX! The entire home was fully equipped. The kitchen was more than amply stocked with cookware, dishes, utensils… The pool area had tons of floats and beach towels. And the beach chairs, umbrella and wagon made the short walk to toes in the sand easy as could be. Erin, the property manager, responded to messages in minutes and was quick to relay information to the owner. We highly recommend this family friendly home to all looking for the perfect vacation! 5

Great Week of Vacation.

Chuck was a great host. He gave us a brief tour and some tips on what was available for our use during our stay. The house is very spacious and we had plenty of room for our extended family. The pool and hot-tub were well maintained and we spent a lot of time in and around the pool. We walked to the beach on several occasions as it is about 2-blocks from the house. We hope to return in the next year or two for another stay at this home.

Beautiful Beach Home

Salty Souls is a gorgeous home decorated with a designers touch while at the same time providing a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. Vicki's attention to detail to truly amazing along with her excellent German chocolate cake! Guests are treated with a feeling of being "special" which we have never experienced in over thirty years of renting cottages in the outer banks. Chuck and Vicki have thought of every need guests could possibly wish for and this made our week a memorable one. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful home with us and we most certainly would love to rent your cottage by the sea again.

Almost Heaven

Great home and owner. Everything was there that we needed (have to bring towels as noted in ad). The house is in a very upscale neighborhood with lots of trees and quiet, a big difference from most areas on OBX. Mostly did relaxing in the house and on the fabulous and many decks and in the pool. I gave the house 4 stars because it isn't on the beach, which we knew and chose anyway. But what a great house. Only thing better would be an elevator and the sounds of waves. Thanks for sharing, Chuck!

Wonderful home to vacation at!

We had a lovely time at Salty Souls home! The decor and neighborhood are spectacular. We will be staying in the future . Chick made check in and check out a breeze and communication throughout our stay was pleasantly easy. No issues at all with this property. The chocolate cake was a huge hit with my family and the kitchen is FULLY equipped with anything we could possibly need! Beds were very comfortable and decor was very tastefully done . Plenty of space for my family of 7 . Lots of games as well as beach toys were great with the kids . Adults enjoyed the hot tub and TV ! Pictures don’t do this place justice . Very clean and accommodating. Highly recommended this place !

A beautiful vacation home

Our stay in Southern Shores was perfect in every way. The house was gorgeous, with beautiful furnishings and amenities, and the cleanliness was outstanding. Our hosts, Chuck and Vicki, met us at the door and gave us a delightful tour of the property. There were four parking passes which allowed us to bring several cars to the beach for our large family. (A very short drive and a short stroll to the beach from there! It is walking distance for those who wish to.) The backyard and pool area had a very secluded feel to it, and the whole family loved to chill there in the heat of the afternoon, talking, reading, and listening to the song of the cicadas and birds. There were so many places in the quiet neighborhood to walk our dog, and the home even had it's own little fenced dog park! It was a wonderful week in celebration of my Dad's 80th birthday. We cannot wait to return to this house!!

Amazing beach house...and hosts!

There aren’t enough stars to rate Salty Souls...It’s a beautiful, well-maintained, and CLEAN beach house with all you could ever ask for! Not your run of the mill cheesy beach rental. The hosts have decorated and supplied it so you immediately feel right at home and are very friendly, informative, and accessible. Forget something? Not to worry, the hosts have already thought of it : ) Even had a delectable cake in the frig to greet us when we arrived (unbelievable!). It’s like your own private tree house with plenty of space and privacy, yet plenty of places to gather, whether inside, on the decks, or by the pool. We appreciated having a fenced in area for our dog as well and quiet streets to walk him. And for beach lovers like me, it’s an easy park/walk to the beach! We ve rented many places at the beach over the years and this has by far been the best ~ Would 110% recommend!

A home away from home for the week

Look no further! Hands down the best vacation rental we have ever stayed in! My husband and I have stayed in many vacation rentals all over the world and Salty Souls takes the cake. The home is in a lovely quiet residential section of southern shores with a 5-10 minute walk to the beach. Chuck and Vicki are fantastic owners who go above and beyond to ensure their guests are having a great time! The home is well appointed, super comfortable beds, and an awesome fenced in backyard dog park that connects to the pool area. Heated pool, hot tub, plenty of outdoor seating near the pool and on the decks. Indoors they have thought of EVERYTHING!! From the lovely coastal decor, ample selection of Books, videos, games, smart tv’s, and the kitchen has EVERY single thing you could need. Not one thing is overlooked. The owners met us to check in and give a tour and we were blown away by their hospitality and kindness. Vicki- the German upside down cake was amazing- thank you! Honestly I could go on and on- but if you’re still Reading- just do it. Rent this home you will not regret it!

Great Experience!

The hosts are amazing! Even before we were to arrive, they graciously cancelled and refunded the deposit for the 2 dogs we couldn't take. The day of check in, Chuck contacted us to see if we wanted to check in early and offered to show us where everything was and how it worked. Once we checked in, we had a couple of questions and they responded within minutes. Mid-stay, one of the air conditioners wasn't functioning and Chuck showed up and got it fixed within a couple of hours. To top it off, they baked a cake and left it for us in the refrigerator for us to have on arrival. The place was super clean and extremely well organized! Everything was easy to figure out and even the light switches were labelled. There were plenty of dishes, pots and pans for large groups. There was plenty of space for all 11 of us - 8 adults and 3 small children. The pool area was great and the yard is quite spacious. The car port storage room was full of beach gear including chairs, popup shade structure and umbrellas, pails and shovels, as well as pool toys and floaties. Overall an amazing experience!

Salty Souls Is Amazing!

This property has so many amazing aspects to it. The location is great. Close to grocery, CVS and Walgreens, Starbucks and Walmart. Makes it so easy to run and grab anything you need. Close to Duck and the shopping and restaurants as well. Owner provided parking passes so you could drive the few hundred yards to the beach, cross the street and you are there. The pool is very nice size with lots of lounge chairs and a table with chairs so there is enough seating for everyone. There is also a sand volley ball court, hot tub and a separate yard area for your dog. Everything connects so you can allow your pet to walk around the pool then they are able to go right out into the side "doggie" area and go to the bathroom without you having to leave the pool area. The home itself is really nice. So many nice porches/decks to sit out on. A big great room and nice size kitchen with a large eat in kitchen area. It's a nice open floor plan. The owner has thought of everything to have available to you. The bedrooms are nice and roomy with several of them having king beds and they all have their own bathroom. Two of the bedrooms have a jack and jill bathroom. Three of the four bedrooms have their own balcony with a sliding glass door leading out and you are able to get down to the pool from the balconies. Very comfortable beds and the bathrooms are nice size. Overall this is a wonderful property and I would highly recommend.

Family vacation retreat

The house is perfect for large families with 3 master suites on different floors. It affords privacy yet closeness. The owner has thought of everything you need. You just have to pack your clothes and get some food! It is a bit of a walk to the beach, even from the private parking lot and you can’t see the ocean from the house, but the privacy is worth it.

Salty Souls

From the time our families arrived at Salty Souls, we had a blast. Chuck and Vicki were wrapping up cleaning and preparing the house for us and were able to give us a tour of their beautiful home. They are two genuinely kind people and it is clear they care about their home and ensuring guests have everything they need. We had no issues at all with the house, but Chuck was a phone call away if needed, and even checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Words do not give justice to the phenomenal chocolate cake that Vicki made and left us. The house itself was clean and organized with endless amounts of supplies, entertainment, and books. The book that Chuck wrote is a must read as it is a great story and well written. The heated pool was clean and the hot tub was a hit for our family. We will certainly be back!

Wonderful!

10/10! We rented this property for our honeymoon/vacation and Chuck and Vicki went above and beyond to make our stay truly magical. They both had exceptional communication whenever we had a question or concern. The house was extremely clean and beautiful. I couldn’t have been happier with how it went. We hope to stay here again in the future.

There were only 7 of us staying at the house. Others had to cancel at the last minute. But everyone there was totally impressed with everything. Chuck could not have been nicer, and the cake that Vicki made is worthy of note. The house was gorgeous and the description provided online was on the money. Everything was perfectly accurate. The house was comfortable and welcoming. I don’t think we could have picked a better place for our family vacation. The pool was the center of focus for our family, and it was terrific. But the entire property is perfect for a family vacation.

Beautiful Home

This home was absolutely stunning and perfect for our family vacation. The home was very clean, beautifully decorated, fully stocked, and had a perfect location. We really appreciated meeting the owner for a tour of the home, he was very quick with communications, and brought us a delicious pie. I cannot recommend this home enough and we hope to come back someday.

The house was absolutely amazing! The owners checked in with us multiple times to see if anything was needed and how our stay was going! We had the best time staying at this house, and highly recommend anyone looking for a beautiful vacation stay!

How fortunate we were…

…to find this property. Never having been to OBX, we had little idea where to locate ourselves. Yet we found ourselves just a few walking minutes from the beach! The owner greeted us when we arrived, showing us around the lovely property. House was in great shape, clean and well-stocked. We were doubly delighted to find the kitchen chock full of decent cooking supplies, all the paraphernalia we could not tote along. And thank you for the lovely cake tucked away in the refrigerator, just the thing for our first night. There was plenty of room for our party of six adults, the porches are an added bonus, and this swimmer loved the clean pool. The weather was perfect and we left with smiles and wonderful memories. There’s something there for everyone: TVs, games, books, nearby good food, restaurants, grocery stores, golf courses. And Chuck I was a wonderful host, just a phone call away if we needed anything. Recommend.
