Loved the lodge did need a bit of maintenance. Remote didn’t work. And the power was cut off by the power company every day from as early as 11am till midnight for 2 nights one night it did come back on at 6:30. This was not the lodges fault. The whole town was without power. But as far as the lodge itself I loved it and would recommend.

It's close to the river. We've been camping at Camp 3 for over 20 years. This time, we wanted to sleep comfortably and be close to the river to enjoy it more. The second night, they helped us light the BBQ and make a campfire. The gentleman was very kind.

When we got there no one in office ok fine. Rang bell called number on website but said disconnected. Finally got help he asked why I didn’t call number written on door. I told him I called number on website. He says in a bothered attitude that doesn’t work. Didn’t give us room we paid for. So go to room maid still inside says it’s not really so went and waited in heat. Check in is 3:00 we got there 3:30. The room looked ok. The shower had black mole in grout. They are supposed to clean room everyday. Never got service. Had to go to office and get clean towels and toilet paper. What it comes down to if you want a clean room a working tv and quite. Don’t come here.

The Kern Lodge is cute, comfortable and a great value. It's an old family style lodge. The rooms are good sized and clean. Maybe not the best bed but all 5 of us slept just fine. Location is walkable to literally everything. I can't say enough nice things about the gentlemen who runs the place. We will be back!.

I took my mom, son and small dog to visit Kern River for their first time. Both of them were weary of tent camping, so we decided to stay at the Kern Lodge. The room had the feel of a cabin and was very simple. Bed's were comfortable, room came with Keurig, coffee pods, small fridge, microwave, shampoo, body wash. The hotel grounds were very cute. There was a courtyard with a bonfire pit, there was a giant chess board, giant checker board. The walls are not thin where you hear everything going around outside. James Store was walking distance, Pizza Barn was walking distance. The front desk was helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend staying here and we will be staying there again next year.

Checked in and received keys to room. Walked into an unclean living room with trash and bed sheets not changed. Went to management who asked for an additional hour to clean our room. After this time had passed, bed sheets still had hair, pillow case had a stain and the single toilet also had hair. The fold out couch was impossible to sleep upon, as the bars pushed through a thin mattress. This same couch had tape that covered apparent tears in it. Rather than stay the night, we opted to take the 3.5 hour ride back home. This was a forgettable stay would never book at this location again. The gentleman at the front desk was nice and professional.

Didn’t feel clean even though it looked clean enough because the body wash and soap dispensers not refilled, no toilet paper, no paper towels, bad bed, air wouldn’t set to cool below 77 degrees in a hot place! Not central air, noisy, tiny shower & room advertised as bigger than it was! Wont stay here again.

The lodge looks quint and presentable. However the dispenser in the shower had dropped. The drain cover was not screwed in and exposed the drain partially. The air conditioner was leaking and making noises. When I went to the front office it was unlocked but no one present to alert them about the issues. Finally about 30 minutes of looking and waiting for somone to show up I saw a person go into the office side door. Imediately I went to the door and the individual answered. I was given towels to address the leaking from the air conditioner and apologies for the dispenser and drain cover problem. I brought up the coffee as well and was given coffee filters. Personally I would not advise anyone to book here. Poor service. Hard to find assistance. No reply from office.

Friendly but the property is not good.

The peoperty is okay but they used bedding that had already been used by other guests and was stained without washing. The stove in the kitchen did not work and the fixtures inside were very old and not in good working order.
