This stone built, Grade II listed, semi-detached holiday cottage is set on the owners’ working farm in the small north Yorkshire hamlet of Ickornshaw. With exposed stone walls, oak beams, mullioned windows and a wood burner, the cottage is traditional in every respect, as well as warm, comfortable and cosy. Set near the Yorkshire/Lancashire border and surrounded by beautiful countryside, this wonderful location is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts with the Pennine Way footpath running right past the farm. In an area steeped with history, a short walk will take you to the old village of Cowling, where the local pub dates back to 1812, and the nearby Quaker village of Lothersdale was once home to Charlotte Brontë.
Just 20 minutes away is the attractive market town of Skipton, once voted the best shopping spot in Britain, and otherwise known as the ’Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales’ and beyond. The wonderful cobbled high street of Haworth is also just 20 minutes, and home to the Brontë Parsonage Museum and the Worth Valley Steam Railway, recognizable from its prominence in the classic film ’The Railway Children’. The large retail outlet of Boundary Mill can be reached in around 15 minutes, and Grassington, Malham and Bolton Abbey estate are all also within easy reach. Fishing available nearby. Beautiful cottage in a really quiet area.
Beautiful cottage in a really quiet area. Lots of local walking from the doorstep.Pub and restaurants only a 15 minute walk away.Owners very friendly and helpful.
Comfortable country cottage with lovely surrounding countryside. Our hosts Edie and Julie were marvellous, very hospitable and friendly.

What a hidden gem this cottage is. The cottage is a cosy, lovely, clean and very relaxing place to stay. It is well equipped making it a real home from home. The owners are friendly and kind. It is in a good location for exploring lots of lovely places. Would highly recommend.

Just prefect. A great example of, never judge a book by its cover. In a real working farm with lovely hosts and well situated for easy trips to Skipton, Harrogate, Grassington, Malham and many other Dales locations. Will 100pc be back.

This is one of the best cottages we have ever been to.
This is one of the best cottages we have ever been to.Situated on a real working farm with dogs, sheep etc. Views across the fields are tremendous and the farm garden is great with outdoor seating.Interior is cosy and clean. Bedrooms are large and bathroom has bath with shower over.There are lots of places to visit a short drive away as well as ample walking routes and quaint pubs.The owners live in the attached farm house and are very welcoming. Lovely welcome pack provided.We will be back for another visit. Thank you for a great stay.
