What an awful regrettable experience at this place unfortunately called "hotel"; First, this hotel was rated by expedia as a 3 stars hotel, this is not even a 0.1 star. Second, at the entrance when we had to check in the receptionist was sleeping on a sofa (that what was supposed to be a reception) he hardly woke up in a bad mood after 5 minutes to do the check in. Three, right after we were stuck in what was supposed to be an elevator for 15 minutes. Nobody helped, we barely succeeded to open the sliding door by force to get out. The guy was standing up at the entrance smiling and pointing to the stairs to get to the 5th floor!!! Four, the what was supposed to be a room was awful in all aspects, it looked like a prison cell neglected from any care or cleaning since years... Five, the floor, bed, and most important the pillow, cover and were in a horrific dirty condition black stained with ordure in addition to an unsupportable odor!!!! I went down to ask him gently to clean the room and change them, he rudely replied "no more supplies... tomorrow". Sixth, I covered the bed with my own clothes to spend the night, I woke up in the morning with an unbearable red tearing eye pain!!! I was infected by a virus from the unbearable dirtiness!!!! Seven, not a single cover, pillow or towel has been changed during the whole stay... nobody entered the room to clean!!!! I can stay for hours expressing my deep disappointment describing all terrible stages in that "hotel", but I will limit

Dirty kitchen

The manager very friendly but our whiskey and brandy was stolen so we did not leave our key for them to clean. The kitchen was the dirtiest we have ever seen. The lift only worked after day three. The location is good we could walk to most of the places.

Bad bad times

terrible, the room was terrible, we found red ants crawling , We were on the fifth floor and no where near heaven!!!! There was no towel bars in the bathroom, the sea view, over looked the fire escape, and on the very far corner i could see a bit of the sea, the bed was placed on the opposite wall from the air conditioner, meaning that the night lights that were placed on the wall that were supposed to be on either side of the bed were were at the foot of the bed on the wall under the air conditioner, the TV was on the wall above the head of our bed, could never get the TV to work, being on the fifth floor there is NO Wifi, which is free wow. they offer no breakfast , but im quite sure we were better off with out that.the telephone was on the floor under the bed, no night tables, the room reeked of stale something, like a dirty damp smell. no shuttle offered, the there is an elevator.....that does not work. the drapes were good black out drapes. lol when we booked in they said that the room was being cleaned waited for alost 1nad half hours, the man said that there was a problem with the booking said that he hadnt confirmed that we had a room. even tho we copied the confirmation from hotels. com. he said it did not matter that we paid or anything said he had final decision.even tho hotels.com confirmed we had just paid for a roomI will never return to this hotel ever again, Its not even worth considering, HOTELS .COM strike this hoptel from your list :( very unsaisfied

Nice hotel but not friendly

I booked online via expedia for 19-21 May 2015 but at first was denied to check-in on 21 May 2015 (morning at 7.00 am) even though I has paid for two days. I had called the hotel informed that my delay check-in and was granted by the staff who received the call. After one hour waiting and argument then I was allowed to check-in and had to pay Euro 64 but I gave him Euro 70 he never return the balance Euro 6. He told me to collect later and never give me receipt even I insisted. The following day I received notice from my credit card bank CIMB that was deducted Euro 32 for the hotel. All together I had paid Euro 102 in which supposedly only Euro 64 for two days. So I was cheated by this hotel and do not know to whom should I make the complaint.

Shabby chic (sort of!)

Great central location and the staff were lovely and always happy to help. You kinda got what you paid for with the rooms - shabby but not tooooo small and the bed was very comfy. The noise from the street on the first floor was a bit of nightmare, so we actually moved rooms, but then it was fine. TV's didn't work either but you don't really need them. Oh and they have a lovely roof terrace where you can eat breakfast, which is a great way to start the day!

Opinion: Worst hotel in Istanbul

My partner and I had an absolutely horrific stay at the Ast hotel. It is not a hotel, but rather, as hostel style of accommodation. The doors of all the cupboards were falling off their hinges, there was no soap, the wires of the tv were exposed dangerously, the tv and the phone in the room were inoperable, the elevator was broken (reviews suggest it has been broken since January 2015), staff did not clean the room once in our stay, and the shower (basically a pipe) floods the small bathroom. We ended up checking out of the hotel early as the room became so musty and dank that we could not breath comfortably. I would not recommend this hotel to any traveler but the low-budget backpacker with no other options.

WORST hotel (HOSTEL) in Istanbul

This was by far the WORST hotel I have ever had the misfortune of staying in. Hotels.com suggests that this is a 3 star hotel in the old city, however it is run and conditioned as a hostel, NOT a hotel. The room we got looked like it was still under renovations, cupboard doors fell off, there were holes in the wall and wires coming out of the TV (which was inoperable, along with the phone in the room), there was hot water for only 3 minutes before turning to freezing, and the internet was horribly spotty. Walls are paper thin, so if you're a light sleeper you're also in trouble. The elevator was out of service (parts everywhere), the sheets looked like they had not been cleaned, and not once during our stay did they come to clean. We ended up checking out early and moving to a hotel that was much better for only a little more money. I would hate for anyone to buy into this hostel without knowing what it is - a low rate hostel which you should not pay more than 20-30 euros for. They also do not offer a receipt - MAKE SURE YOU GET ONE as they try to double charge.

The hotel is under the reconstruction, the lift doesnt work, in upper flors there is high humidity and the rooms are wet and not cleaned so well. The furniture and sheets are old. The breakfast is very simple but the good thing is that you can take a tea any time during the day or night. Advantage of the hotel is very good location.

this was my fourth trip to istanbul as well as stay at the ast hotel... this time i was very disappointed with my experience.. sure the rooms i stayed in before had a few issues.. o well.... Well this time we were placed in a room facing the back of the hotel... our view was a black splotchy painted wall of a building, a rooftop of some sort just below window sill, filled with garbage, then i found the black mould on the ceiling above the door, and above the window, sheets and towels were changed, with damp ones... crawled into bed and it was damp, the housekeeper even hung the towels in the bathroom to dry, Asked for another room but never got one, only stayed 3 nights but nothing was changed. on my last night we spoke to the manager and requested a wake up call in the early morning,thankfully i awoke 30 mins before shuttle arrived to take us to airport...was utterly disappointed this time.. price may be cheaper buttttttttttttt! :( WAS IT WORTH IT??? Great area!!!!!! Great city, we willl return but not to the same hotel. sorry people!!!
