This holiday home is located on the first floor of our house and is furnished in a rustic Mexican style. All windows face the inner courtyard. The apartment has a private balcony with sea views. The living area is divided into a dining area directly at the window to the balcony, a kitchenette and the actual living area with a sofa and two armchairs. The bathroom with shower is entered from the bedroom. The flat screen Tv has satellite reception with around 450 international channels - including Bbc World and Cnn - as well as local reception with common Spanish Tv channels by switching on the remote control (international movies on most of the Spanish Tv channels can be switched to the original language). You can also ask for free Netflix. Of course, the large communal roof-terrace can also be used. Our house got glass fibre internet connection and at all of the accommodations as well as at the roof-terrace there is very good working wifi-connection.
These smart rural apartments are in a 200 years old manor-house with typical patio, rambled stairs and a big sun terrace with excellent views to the mountains and the Atlantic ocean. The house is an example of Canarian architecture. It was completely reconstructed by the year 2002 and again renovated in 2011, conserving his original Canarian style.
The mostly young and international guests are using the Apartamentos Monasterio de San Antonio as perfect starting point for mountain bike and walking tours as well as for trips around the varied areas of the island.
Apartments Monasterio de San Antonio are located next to the city of Icod de los Vinos surrounded by palms and green environ, aprox. 325 meters over the Atlantic ocean. The famous dragontree and the city center are aprox. 800 meters away. Nearby there is also one of the biggest volcanic caves of the world (the Cueva del Viento). The next beach (the Playa de San Marcos) with several bars and restaurants is only 3.5 km away.

Idealer Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge
Die Unterkunft hatte den erwarteten und gewünschten Charme eines historischen Gebäudes. Die Wohnung lag ausreichend getrennt von den anderen Appartements. Die Auststattung der Küche war auf das Notwendige beschränkt. Wer in der Wohnung kochen möchte, sollte mit dem Vermieter Heiko die notwendige Ausrüstung klären.
Trotz Lage an einer Verbindungsstraße zu anderen Ortsteilen, war nachts kein Verkehr zu hören. Die Lage war für uns Teneriffa-Anfänger ein guter Kompromiss zwischen Nähe zu einer Kleinstadt, Aussicht auf das Meer und guter Verkehrsanbindung. Insgesamt ein guter und empfehlenswerter Gesamteindruck.
