Idyllic Mountain Retreat

Beautifully appointed home in highly desirable neighborhood. From motion detected night lights to hair dryers, no detail was overlooked. Great proximity to Main St, shops, and delightful restaurants. A must stay!!

Mountain Paradise

Beautifully appointed and decorated, this welcoming home was perfect for a quiet week in the mountains. Close to Main Street, and plenty of wonderful restaurants and shops. We enjoyed our stay so much that we booked again for next year!!

Beautiful mountain home

We enjoyed our stay at High Pond. The property was as listed, very clean. Beautiful quite gated neighbored. Convenient to all the hiking areas in Highlands. The bed was comfortable which is very important to me. The house all the amenities we needed. Although it was just my husband and myself this would be awesome stay for family.

Osseroga Beauty

We stayed here for a girls’ getaway. The house is beautifully decorated and has beautiful spaces. Two screened in porches and an outdoor patio with fireplace were enjoyed by all. The location between Highlands and Cashiers was perfect which made exploring the area easy. I didn’t have the heart to drop the rating because of the TV situation, but it was an issue. There is not a tv on the main floor. The tv’s were located in the master bedroom and downstairs family room. Since the cable was not working (Which mgmt said someone would fix it, but no one ever showed up), we were forced to all watch TV in the master. Other than this we were extremely happy with the house.

Lovely Home

Lovely home with excellent amenities. Great layout. Note to prospective guests the driveway brings a new meaning to the word steep and firewood is not included. Neighborhood was quiet and beautiful.

Great house for January 2021 getaway

We went up for a long weekend stay and the house was clean and perfect for our family. This house has a wonderful outside fireplace and beautiful views of mountains and the lake. Highly recommend!

Beautiful house, in a gated community, very quiet and beautiful surroundings.

The property has space for everyone to spread out if you are with your family. Loved the downstairs den, great games, TV and space to have fun. Kitchen is not large but has every amenity that you could need and a large table for family gatherings.

Great stay!

Enjoyed the porches, both the screened in porches and the stone patio. Our little one loved sitting next to the water feature off the side patio. Well stocked in terms of utensils and cooking items. Beds were comfortable! Although the property has internet we did have some challenges with bandwidth where using it upstairs and on the patio/porches was hit and miss, so would say if you need to work it would be best to have an alternative WiFi source with you if more than one person is streaming video calls or using other devices all at the same time, we had personal mifis with us so were able to connect to those to help eliminate some of the streaming challenges on Monday. Home was well maintained and beautifully decorated. We also saw a mama black bear and her two very young cubs in the woods near the house on our last afternoon. Great location between Highlands and Cashiers. Overall very happy with our stay.

Highlands home with excellent quality offering the finest materials and construction.

Located just 4.5 miles from the downtown Main Street in Highlands, this house provided our family of four with everything that we needed and wanted on our vacation. The downstairs area has two bedrooms with adjoining bathrooms and a large recreation/bonus room. Our kids loved this arrangement. This home is so well constructed and thought out that my wife and I did not hear any noise as our children played downstairs. The interior woodwork is to be marveled. My wife and I really enjoyed the solid quality and beauty of this home. The back porch is screened and all of the furniture both inside and outside is of great quality and condition. The home was also well cleaned. We have stayed at many properties over the last decade; this is the first home that we believe should require renter preapproval because the house is so nice. We were thrilled that we choose this property through VRBO.

Fantastic mountain home for family getaway

This is an outstanding property in a wonderful small mountain lake neighborhood. The house is well designed and beautifully decorated with all amenities. We enjoyed a family getaway with our young adult children and the layout of the house was perfect. The location is close enough to Highlands to enjoy shopping, dining, etc. but we also felt the privacy of a beautiful mountain lake setting. We plan to return when it’s warm enough to use the lovely screened porches and outdoor patio and fireplace.

Gorgeous house in a gorgeous location! High Pond cottage is in a perfect location- just a short drive to town but far enough away for peace and quiet. The house is furnished and decorated beautifully. The pictures don’t do it justice!

Wonderful cottage and an ideal location between Higlands and Cashiers!

A very accommodating home for our extended family. Plenty of room for 6 and the beds were all very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware and utensils. The back screened porch is absolutely wonderful! Just be aware that the drive is a bit steep and takes some initial finesse to master.

Perfect in every way!

We were just there for Labor Day weekend and had a ball. High Pond Cottage was fabulous- it is nestled in a quaint neighborhood half way between Highlands and Cashiers which is a perfect location. The decor is attractive and inviting, the beds and bed linens so comfortable. We liked the set-up with the master on the entry level floor and the two other bedrooms on the lower level. Everyone had just the right amount of privacy. We wanted to watch the college football season openers, and the lower den was perfect for watching the games while grilling out and enjoying the outdoor fireplace. I was pleasantly surprised that the kitchen was so well appointed as we ended up preparing a couple of dinner meals. The property manager was great also. I highly recommend High Pond Cottage and will certainly rent again!

Beautiful Highlands home close to Main Street!

Loved the screened in porch and beds were very comfortable! The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you’ll need. The kids will absolutely love the downstairs tv room and comfy sofa. There’s not a tv in the main floor den but there is a nice one in the master bedroom. I would definitely rent again!
