Amazing B&B

Highly recommend Shaftoes. Everything was first class from the welcome from Lois to delicious breakfast. So many little extra touches to make you feel at home and make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.

Perfect place for the Wall

Everything excellent. The room was comfortable, well equipped, and very clean. Everything worked and was convenient. Breakfast is excellent. You have to say what you want for a cooked breakfast the evening before but that isn't a problem at all Lois, our host, was very interested in our itineraries and was very happy to offer advice on whatever plans we add. Ideally located for the popular spots on the Wall, it's unlikely you could find anywhere better for your visit

We stayed here for 1 nt whilst attending a wedding nearby. We loved this place. The room was spacious, clean and plenty of amenities. The breakfast was outstanding!!!! Pancakes and US style bacon with syrup, rivals the best that the US has to offer. If your considering staying here for any reason at all - you won't regret it. If you're travelling from the US (or anywhere overseas) and doing Hadrian's wall this is a beautiful accomodation that will be a highlight of your visit. I highly recommend you try Shaftoe's, it will provide the perfect stay.

Superb B&B

The owners welcome you from the moment you arrive. It is exceptionally clean and the room we had was spacious. Breakfast is tailored to your requests . The owner was extremely helpful in notifying us of traffic issues around the area due to a lorry fire on the A69 and how best to avoid it. The property is in a quiet area with very little passing traffic.

Perfect B&B

Fantastic location, easy drive to Roman sites, and a short walk to the train station. Breakfast cooked to order was delicious and a nice variety. Room was larger than typical and a friendly greeting each morning. Highly recommended.
