El SHELTER en HATTERAS es la mejor casa de vacaciones. Nuestra casa en la isla de Hatteras tiene todas las comodidades que esperas, incluyendo vistas panorámicas del agua. The Shelter es nuestro segundo hogar, no un alquiler de cortador de galletas. Estarás a un corto paseo de tu elección de restaurantes, tiendas junto al mar, tres puertos deportivos, el Museo del Cementerio del Atlántico y la playa más tranquila de la costa este. Estarás en el corazón de Hatteras Village con todo su encanto y aventura.

La casa cuenta con WI-FI, televisores de pantalla plana con cable digital en la sala de estar y el dormitorio principal y una impresionante ducha al aire libre bordeada de cedro, mesa de limpieza de pescado y parrilla donde puede preparar sus días. Hay una enorme cubierta de dos niveles para relajarse y disfrutar de la vista.

El refugio está a unos 100 metros de Teaches Lair Marina and Grill. Puede reservar su viaje de pesca o simplemente visitar antes de las 4 pm para ver los días de pesca. Las capturas típicas son: aguja azul, pez vela, delfín, tambor rojo, wahoo, reyes y españoles, pez azul, atún y mero.

Los Outer Banks fueron la primera parte del Atlántico que visitaron los colonos ingleses, principalmente la expedición de Sir Walter Raleigh en los años 1580. A través de siglos de aislamiento, las personas que habitan en las orillas exteriores han desarrollado una forma de vida propia. Hatteras cerca de su extremo sur se encuentra a 12 millas de la Corriente del Golfo que se conoce como "Game Fish Junction" debido a la abundancia de especies de peces del norte y del sur. Best stay ever!!

This place was perfect for us and our two dogs. It was clean. A fenced in yard for the dogs to play. The marina was across the street. After a long day of fishing it was just a short walk to the house. The host was quick to answer questions and made us feel welcomed. I will definitely get this place when we come back.

Great Escape

My family went to the Shellter for spring break this year. What a great escape. The beaches were vacant, full of shells, and our dogs had a blast in the ocean. What a great house and great location. We loved all the special touches and character of the house. We'll definitely stay again!!

Great place

House was very nice. Was stocked well with all cooking ware. The upper deck was really nice with a great view. Outdoor shower is nice, could use a little more coverage in my opinion. Great little neighborhood with close beach access. Several of the beach acces were damaged and closed while we were there.

Thanksgiving get-a-way

Property was the perfect size for our needs. Great location for our family and close to our daughter's place so we could enjoy visiting with little driving. No towels were provided, but luckily i had brought some.

Girls Weekend and High School Play

Myself, SIL, and 2 DIL came down to visit my daughter who is the English and Drama teacher at Cape Hatteras Secondary. They were premiering Harry Potter and the Cursed Child...the only high school in NC selected to do the play!

Great location

We loved sitting on the rooftop deck to view the sunset and stars. The house is in a wonderful location in Hatteras village. Very convenient walk to the ocean and restaurants.

Perfect!!

Shellter was absolutely perfect! Everything we needed was available. The decorations were beautiful! It was very clean. It was walking distance to the beach, the marina and restaurants. We had wonderful weather and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay!

Great house

This is the second year we have stayed here. We were here during the 4th of July holiday and it was great. Holiday parade. The house is just like it is described and not that far from the beach or sound. Great place.

Great house, enjoyed relaxing stay

We had a very relaxing stay in this cool little house. The house is on one of the last streets before the ferry and 4x4 beach, so there’s minimal traffic and you can easily bike to the general store, restaurants, hardware store, and grocery store. You really feel the island vibe. The house is perfect for a small family. There’s plenty of room to chill after dinner and watch a movie. The owner has been kind enough to leave some items there to make your stay more convenient, like bikes and kayaks. We used the bikes quite often. The outdoor dart board was cool too. The owner was prompt returning communications, also. We would definitely stay again.

Great location

We loved the proximity to the local beaches and the quiet vibe of Hatteras Village in spring. The house was a good size for our family of six and we appreciated the beach gear and bikes! The house is older, a little worn/dated and short on hot water. Beds were comfortable and clean. The overall cleaning of the house was spotty though-- coffee left in the maker, crumbs in the couch. Nothing that was a deal breaker though. We enjoyed our stay!

Great house in the center of the village

The house was very clean and included all amenities we needed. The description of the house was spot-on. The location makes it very walkable to the beach and a number of restaurants and shops. We loved sitting on the rooftop deck.

Great Location - Unfortunately it was not a good stay

Upon arrival of the house we walked in and were immediately hit in the face with a horrendous odor and there was NO electricity. I called the owner and she informed me that the power had been turned off over a week prior to prepare for a storm and the power had not been turned back on. The house smelled awful with a mix of moth balls, mold, and musty. Not to mentioned the house was over 80 degrees inside. We stopped at the grocery store on the way to the house and purchased groceries and had planed to put them in the fridge and freezer. But the fridge and freezer were not on, had mold in them (from having no power) and obviously the fridge and freezer were not cold. So we used our own Clorox wipes to clean the fridge and put what we could in our cooler until the next day when the the fridge was good to go. So we lost some of our groceries overnight and had to buy more. Very frustrating. There were bugs in the house. I had to kill two bugs upon arrival. One was a roach the other was just a fly or something similar. By Sunday (our last full day) the home started to smell normal again. Unfortunately we had very bad first impression of the house. It is the property owners responsibility to ensure the property is ready to receive guests. And in this instance the property was not ready. The location of the home is awesome, close enough to walk / bike to a few restaurants and shops. Very close to the beach access too. The top deck is awesome and has a great view.

Relaxing and nice!

Great beach house! Just a short walk to the ocean. The owners provided extra things (beach and sand supplies etc) in storage that we were happy to have for our stay. House was clean and relaxing. Very open and bright. Would stay again.

Didn’t Disappoint!

This was our second year at the Shelter. It’s perfect for our family of 4. The roof deck is great for sunsets and the screened porch was nice to have on the rainy days. Wonderful memories were made. Thanks!!!

Great House

This place is wonderful. Great location! You are a short walk or golf cart ride to the beach, marina and shopping. House has everything you need. Communication with property owner was fast and easy. House is beautiful. The outside shower was a hit with my crew. We are looking forward to 2024 for our next stay. Thank you for a wonderful place to stay for our vacation.

Good time

We enjoyed our stay at the Shelter. Rain meant we couldn’t enjoy the upper deck but the house had everything we needed for evening of games we brought with us and great location for exploring all our favorites on the island and hopping the ferry one afternoon “chasing the sun” to Ocracoke. Great house, great location!

We had 4 adults and my 3 yr old son. While my husband, dad and bil went fishing, my son and I walked to the beach, carrying tons of toys and a chair. Across the road was Teach's Lair Marina & Hatteras Sol Resturant and down a little further was Lee Robinson General Store. The house was all one level once you got up the stairs. Plenty of seating in the living room with two couches and plenty of chairs on the deck. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils. My only issue was the cleaning people which they might easily overlook small stuff with the amount of houses to clean. I’ve been in motels a lot worse.. We are planning on a visit next year at some point and would rent the house again.
