The overall state of the venue was poor,from the rubbish around the pool to the bad upkeep of the rooms,and the terrible post sale support.Our first night was uncomfortable due to the air-conditioning not working,not to mention the tv also didn't work.A very strong/pungent odour coming from the bathroom.This was all offered as an upgrade for an extra $10,I would hate to have seen the standard room!Would not be recommending this hotel to friends.

I wish I had checked the reviews here before booking but we had stayed before and it was great for the price. Unfortunately new managers. The room we were allocated smelled so strongly of cigarettes that it was impossible to stay. No other accommodation available, no refund, and no interest at all from management who walked away. We had to find other accommodation. No way to contact them except via mobile - which is never answered or picked up and straight away hung up so no refund provided. DO NOT STAY HERE. Read the reviews first

They misinformed of a full house at the Gold Coast which was only 1 room. The owner had informed Expedia of the mistake and they were told it had been fixed. They had done nothing. I was forced to find other accomodation because my daughter which is on the spectrum felt incredibly uncomfortable. The home owner was fantastic and refunded their portion immediately. Expedia on the other hand kept their fees and no offer to help with costs of other accommodation. Disgusted with Expedia.

Nice room but terrible staff

The check in person was insulting and rude. The check in person was too invasive and personal without professionalism and the proper training to be in the position. The room was nice and comfortable but a bit awkward to get to due to improper staff directions. The hotel itself was hard to find, with gps directing me through a residential unit place to an eventual private unassuming street that had a small sign to the hotel.

Rang over 15 times on the mobile Listed but no answer was hoping for half hour early check in - no answer and didn’t return calls Got there at 1.30 and was promptly sent away “for coffee” Cheap and clean but still like a business to answer an advertised phone line

Interesting hotel

The bathroom had a used cotton bud on the floor and there was hair in the bath the type of some had shaved in it and not rinsed it. The hallway floor looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed for a long time. The pizza from the bar was nice. The restaurant looked unorganised.

We had no soap. The hand shower was broken. The light was unsafe with no cover and in arms reach for breaking bulb. No milk, only one tea bag. The curtains were all ripped and dirty from closing them. Sorry we don't have photo's we just wanted out of there. We are now at the Meriton and it is like another world after Hope Island, just amazing.

I liked the simplicity of the property and how it provides all basic amenities including a working tv (the kitchen is slightly small), the neighbours are also good and quiet with a beautiful view of the river. The staff members were also friendly and helpful. The only thing I did not like was how confusing the locks were else wise everything was good.

On arrival, reception person was very abrupt until we mentioned we booked through Expedia, an then he became very helpful. Restaurant staff were dismissive of us. Cereal container was empty and was not refilled even on request. The do it yourself small breakfast was a good option. Comfortable bed.
