We have stayed at The Crown Plaza Gold Coast many times before and have normally been satisfied with the service, facilities, cleanliness and the amount of choice of food for breakfast. This time however we were extremely disappointed! The property has really aged and in some areas looks very ran down. The rooms smelt musky, the bathroom was dirty with mould all around the wet areas! The toilet seat was way to small for the toilet, so you have to sit on the bowl... Gross!!! The aircon wasn't working properly and the beds need replacing NOW! My husband and I were eating our breakfast in the restaurant, we had food in our mouths, knife and fork in hands and food still on our plates when the waitress came along and took our plates away without even saying a word. We both sat there in shock! It was comical almost. We were waiting for someone to come over to our table and say 'You've been PUNKED!' Sorry Crown Plaza but we won't be back!

I don't like the fact that the staff told me FREE parking but I get charged $45 to leave. And also the meals I ordered for room service one of the meals wasn't what I ordered and it was poorly made. Waste of money because I didn't eat it. Not happy

The room was spatious and clean. the bed was very comfortable. It was pretty quiet on weekend, but very loud during week (construction nearby) or when the wind was blowing - strong gales caused a constant loud rushing noise all night; but I addressed this by wearing earplugs. The room was often cool - another blanket would have been nice.

Would rate this property, only did a short stay of 1 night. though our expectations where met. Utilised the room service - great, buffet breakfast had variety of food - fresh and awesome. The view in the room was tops. Room clean and tidy. I highly recommend, as we will be back to stay again.

Good enough for the price

Nice hotel, great staff, although it is a bit older it is cleaned well enough. Great size room for the price. Only problem with it is the paper thin walls. You can hear every scream, every chat, every moan from your neighbours. But I guess when all other hotels are going for $4xx a night and this one is $2xx, you have to sacrifice some things
