Welcome to Rose & Tide, a remarkable architectural oceanfront home inspired by the work of renowned Canadian architect Arthur Erickson, set in the prestigious Bluff area of Lower Gibsons. Experience the essence of West Coast living surrounded by ocean, coastal rock formations, and arbutus trees, where the scenery shifts with the changing light and the soothing sound of the waves becomes part of everyday life.
Wake up to sweeping views across the water toward Keats Island, enjoy your morning coffee overlooking the ocean, and end the day watching the evening light settle over the water. Here, the experience is less about simply having a place to sleep and more about slowing down and experiencing the quieter rhythm of West Coast living.
Room 1 is a spacious ocean-facing bedroom of approximately 195 sq ft, with generous natural light and expansive water views. The room has its own 43 sq ft private bathroom, reserved exclusively for you and never shared with other guests. The bathroom is located directly across the hallway rather than ensuite, a layout that allows more of the bedroom itself to open toward the ocean and its views.
Room 1 also comes with two private outdoor spaces overlooking the water. Its 167 sq ft private open ocean-view deck offers your own place to sit outside in the sunshine and take in the coastal scenery. Facing southeast toward Keats Island, the view brings together two very different perspectives of the coast: the island sits beautifully in the foreground, while beyond it the water opens into a seemingly endless expanse of sea stretching toward the horizon.
Closer to the bedroom windows, you will also have your own private covered ocean-view patio, offering a sheltered place to sit outside while staying just steps from your room. Whether it is morning coffee overlooking the water, an afternoon spent reading in the shade, or simply sitting quietly and listening to the waves, the two outdoor spaces give you different ways to enjoy the ocean throughout the day.
Inside the room, thoughtful details are designed to make your stay feel a little more special. Settle into Zara Home 300-thread-count bed linens, enjoy music through your own Bang & Olufsen Bluetooth speaker, and make use of a Dyson hair dryer during your stay. An aroma diffuser is also available upon request, with a curated selection of more than a dozen essential oil scents to choose from, allowing you to create an atmosphere that feels just right for you.
Beyond your private outdoor spaces, you are surrounded by oceanfront decks, gardens, and the natural landscape of the Bluff. Spend a quiet afternoon listening to the waves, watch boats crossing toward Keats Island, or simply sit outside and see what passes through the water below. Depending on the season and a little luck, seals, eagles, and even whales may make an appearance.
One of the most special features of the property is private beach access directly from the home. Follow our oceanfront stairway down to the shoreline for swimming, kayaking, exploring the beach, or simply finding a quiet spot beside the water.
For morning coffee and light meals, guests have access to a 30 sq ft shared kitchenette, as well as a spacious 264 sq ft shared outdoor food-preparation area. The kitchenette is intended for simple food and beverage preparation rather than full cooking.
To make mornings easy, we provide complimentary light breakfast essentials such as coffee, tea, milk, bread, and seasonal fruit. When available, you may also enjoy seasonal fruits and vegetables harvested from our garden.
Despite feeling tucked away by the ocean, the property is conveniently located near Gibsons Marina, Gibsons Public Market, restaurants, and local attractions, making it easy to explore the Sunshine Coast and return to the peace of the water at the end of the day.
A note about the property: This is a hosted oceanfront residence rather than an entire-home rental. Our approximately 4,700 sq ft home contains only three guest rooms, with a maximum of two guests per room. Your bedroom, bathroom, 167 sq ft open ocean-view deck, and covered ocean-view patio are private, while the kitchenette, outdoor food-preparation area, and beach access are shared guest amenities. We intentionally keep occupancy low to preserve the quiet, relaxed atmosphere of the home.
If you are looking for an entire property completely to yourself with no shared spaces, an entire-home rental may be a better fit. But if your idea of a memorable West Coast escape is waking up to the ocean, stepping onto your own deck with a morning coffee, wandering down to the beach, watching the light change over Keats Island, and falling asleep to the sound of the waves, we would love to welcome you.
