The hotel is central to Old Town area. Most staff were very friendly and helpful, especially when we called about directions emailed prior to arrival. A little specificity as to where to turn off the main road into a brief pedestrian only area which then turned into a very brief auto area would have been quite helpful. It took over a half hour to find the place! Food very good and hot breakfast.

Located in a great area! A few minutes walk away from the train station and multiple bus stops; many dining and shopping options on the same street as the hotel and in the immediate area. Within walking distance (or a short bus ride/drive) of Festspielhaus Neuschwanstein, St. Mang's Abbey, Lechfall, and more. Around a 10-15 minute bus ride or drive from Hohenschwangau, from which it's a 15-30 minute walk to Neuschwanstein Castle, Hohenschwangau Castle, Alpsee, etc. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was spacious and clean. The room had a very nice bathroom area with a huge shower, and windows overlooking the main courtyard, where there is parking. Parking in the main courtyard area is limited, but the hotel has additional separate parking spaces. We had dinner at the restaurant attached to the hotel and had a good experience. The food was great and the atmosphere was very nice. Overall, a very enjoyable experience and exactly what we were looking for!

Fantastic location!

Right in the middle of the old town, Ludwigs is a great hotel. The breakfast room is quite beautiful, and the restaurant dinner was really great. We would stay again. Close to everything, and a quick walk to get the bus to see the Castles.

Short walk to Fussen Train station & food

Between the choice of vicinity to Train station vs vicinity to castles location, i chose the earlier, coz this area has lots more dinner options & shopping. Do take note, all shops close on Sunday, except restaurants. This hotel is of considerable ages but the refurbished to very acceptable level.

A wonderful setting in the quaint walled city of Fussen in Bavaria. An ideal stop en route to skiing in Austria but definitely worth a longer visit and time to explore!

They did a great job of communicating with us about the unique parking situation. Fantastic location. There isn't an elevator, which I just wish we had been aware of so we could have planned our luggage better, but that is more on us that the hotel. The breakfast was also amazing! Our kids still talk about it!

4/5 Pleasing The hotel is unique in a very good way, named accordingly as there are faces of King Ludwig all over the place in the hallway and restaurant. When we arrived the evening receptionist was very kind, spoke great english and he was dressed very suave. He is also involved in the restaurant as well, which the restaurant wasnt yet busy when we arrived so service was quite quick and we had our room number and key right away. The key could weigh you down while doing a lot of walking. Lol. The most interesting key set up, uou shouldnt have trouble finding it. There is no elevator. We had our room just on the second floor so it wasnt too bad and we were backpacking so no heavy luggage to take up flights of stairs. The room is not modern, there's a crystal chandelier and wall sconces and the bed was a good size in a small room. Definitely tight trying to move around. The bathroom is small also, the shower is super small but lots of hot water. We were there in February so a hot shower was a must. The restaurant was good, the staff was prompt, friendly, funny, easy to get along with and had an english written menu. The breakfast buffet was one of the cheapest priced per person buffet and had the best food of all the hotels we stayed in while in Europe. It was great. I really don't have anything bad to say about this hotel except it wouldn't be good for people with mobility issues. The room and bathroom are small and only News on TV in english.
