The tourist attraction includes fascinating exhibits about the history, ecology, geology of the Desert, activities for kids, a train ride, mini golf, and much more. Campground guests enjoy free access to the dunes after hours, and discounted tickets for mini golf and general admission for daytime visits. Come to the place Where Wanderers Unwind.
Guest Access: You will have the entire cabin on a dedicated campsite, all to yourself. In addition, you will have access to our renovated, cedar bath house which is just steps away, with individual showers if you should need it (but, of course, your cabin has a bathroom with a shower!).

Visiting Freeport
Great location to Freeport shopping. Very clean and responsive staff and management. Fun for families with children. We would have liked more room inbetween cabins, but otherwise would highly recommend.

It Was Magical
I had such an awesome time at this location. The cabin was so comfortable and cozy. I loved falling asleep and waking up to the view if the trees behind the cabin. I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Shaws is around the corner where I grabbed some groceries. I was surprised by how facinating the desert was. Because I was there in October, it was quiet. I hiked through the blue trail which had steep parts that were a welcomed challenge. I was there midweek so the Oasis and activities were closed but that didn’t matter for me. I enjoyed just doing my own thing at my own pace. The cottages at night were so beautiful with the outdoor strings of lights glowing through the trees. I felt like I was in a fairytale forest. I highly recommend this place and will be back. I have already told many of my friends to go.

Absolute Perfection!
From the start, this was one of my favorite stays ever! Communication was excellent and hilarious (great emails!). Arriving and finding the cabin was super easy and it was just SO utterly perfect! We happened to arrive during a rare Maine monsoon, so were unable to utilize the campfire, but the inside was cozy and comfortable and wonderful. Bright, spacious and clean! The bed was super comfortable and we loved being able to have morning coffee while looking out the huge windows. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay! We’ll be back soon!
