Nice hotel, our second time there. Convenient 2 bedrooms /2 baths for family or friends . But for the seco t time, one of the elevators were down, which is very inconvenient. The building will need some renovations in the near future .

Newly refurbished and good location

Rooms were recently refurbished, so they look very new, but I have stayed in this hotel in the past, and while brand new, my room was half the size of what it was before... but it was a good stay.

A very basic hotel. The swimming pool was out of use throughout my stay. This was very disappointing, especially as I only learnt about it on my arrival. In such a hot country, a pool is important. Had this information been available to me during the booking process, I would have found another hotel!!!!

my attrocious experience with the hotel

bad value for money almost a fraudI booked to the hotel when arrived with confirmation they didn't have it and in 600am caused me to leave my room because of not availabilityI I called the callcenter of hotels who for hours didnt solve me the problem in the evening "they found me a place in my previous room" the checkout at 600AM prevent me to take a breakgfast I paid for (I have 5 minutes) because I had to leave my room promptly and also to take an excursion at 715

Good location and spacious room

We stayed here while attending the World Cup. It has a good location near the beach and night market. Our triple was spaciuos with two seprate bedrooms and a living room plus small kitchen/refrig. Very few people speak anything other than Portugese but that was true of Fortaleza overall. Not luxery by any means, but still nice enough.

Fortaleza Mecure Good Accomodations Excellent Staff

You have to realize that when in Fortaleza you are stepping back in time in some respects if you are used to American Hotel or Major European City Hotels. This is a very comfortable hotel. The rooms are large the staff is friendly and the restaurant is very nice. This hotel is one block from the Beach. The decor is pretty much 1970 but the rooms were very clean and the bed was comfortable. I think if you want safe comfortable and clean rooms for a good price this is a great value. The staff speak fluent English and are happy to help in any way they can. The restaurant staff were also very accommodating and the food is excellent. A very nice breakfast is served daily with many options both American and European style foods. It is very basic but comfortable. There is currently a new building going up across the street so there is construction noise during the day. This is true in several locations around Beira Mar due to the growth of the economy and prep for the upcoming World Cup in Brazil.

Mercure Fortaleza Meireles: Mixed Bag

Overall, my 9-night stay at the Mercure was pleasant, but the Front Desk personnel were at times rude and unhelpful (i.e. refusing to make change of a R$ 100 note so that I could take a taxi from the hotel). They also seemed incapable of completing basic tasks like faxing a document for me. The suite itself was clean and comfortable (the bed was very comfortable with a nice firm mattress). Only other complaint is that the "gym" consisted of two broken down pieces of equipment and the swimming pool was closed (being rebuilt or torn down, I could not discern). The breakfast buffet was ample, but they could have had more hot foods and they ran out of some items almost every morning.

Hotel envelhecido, quarto com portas descascando, ar condicionado caindo, muito barulhento e antigo, assim como os utensílios do banheiro e do quarto em geral. Elevadores velhos e com defeito, os botões não funcionam e por vezes não param nos andares. Restaurante com poucas opções e algumas até duvidosas. Não condiz com a bandeira Mercure, me parece até que algumas pessoas residem no hotel, não entendi bem isso. Além disso efetuaram uma cobrança a menos na minha achegada e tive que pagar a diferença no check-out, complicando a emissão da NF. únicos pontos positivos: Localização e funcionários atenciosos. Experiência geral péssima.
