Nestled amidst a picturesque expanse of over 260 acres, this property is situated in the heart of one of the most renowned landscapes in the nation, serving as the inspiration for James Fenimore Cooper’s literary masterpiece, “The Last of the Mohicans.” Relax and take in the scenic views, or embark on exhilarating hiking adventures along the extensive trails, enjoy some fishing or take a dip in the seasonal salt water pool. This rustic historic home combines vintage charm and creative character. The open concept layout features hand-painted walls, exposed beams, and warmth throughout. The fully equipped kitchen caters to all culinary needs. The farmhouse-style cabinetry is a standout feature. In the living area, a plush sectional sofa faces a large flat-screen TV, providing an ideal spot to unwind after a day of exploration. On the upper floor, you will find the bathroom, and the loft bedroom, which features a king-sized bed and a twin-sized bed with a trundle, providing ample space to comfortably accommodate four individuals. From the time of booking to our departure Annbritt was prompt and responsive. She was available to help us check-in upon our arrival and provided great recommendations for things to do and places to eat. The accommodations were clean and spacious. The grounds were beautiful. The location is a short drive to downtown Cooperstown and Glimmerglass State park. We had a really nice stay. Thank you!

Everything about our stay at Toad Hall Carriage House was enjoyable. The interior is extremely clean, carefully decorated and all the amenities you might need are provided. The location is just perfect - far enough away from everything so that you can enjoy peace and quiet on beautiful grounds and close enough to everything with a 5 minute car ride. Britt is a very caring host and checked in to make sure everything was ok. I would highly recommend this place and look forward to possibly visiting again.
