We had booked a room for 3 people and when we arrived it was clearly a room big enough for 2. There was no seating other than 2 dining chairs. I was travelling with my elderly Father so asked if we could get a refund as the room was not suitable for 3 people and for the price we paid it seemed sub standard. I was told no, there would be no refund and maybe I should have gone to TeKapo and paid their prices. I did not think this comment was necessary or professional. I was merely trying to sort suitable accommodation for my Dad. I asked if they had any other rooms that had lounge seating and was offered another room with an extra charge. The alternative room looked nice and had good seating but the beds were old. The room had no net curtains so you either felt very exposed or had to close the curtains in the middle of the afternoon for privacy. Inside the room were signs for extra charges if dishes were not done and extra fees for every 10 minutes of late check out. We usually always do our dishes and check out on time but this messaging along with the reception we had received made us feel very unwelcome. Not an enjoyable stay at all.
