Comfortable, clean and lovely restaurant

Great stay, very comfy but just to say the Snug Room is very snug, we are used to a king size bed, so a double up against the wall was a bit too cosy for us. Restaurant lovely and we would definitely stay again but probably pay for the next room size up.

Not quite the country pub I'd anticipated. Room was small and the bath tiny. My husband had to crouch to fit under the shower Food average and not especially hot. Breakfast good Wine overpriced Useful place to stay for visiting Portsmouth but too corporate styled for me

A true gem, and one we would happily visit again!

We are so glad that we found The Ropemaker! The service was amazing - everyone was so friendly and polite. We had our dog with us, and he was made to feel very welcome and made a fuss of, and received his own welcome gift, and a large bed and bowl set to use during his stay. We booked a 'Fancy Room' and it was so comfortable! The bed was large and we slept very well each night. The bar service was very efficient and friendly, and the food was delicious, at both breakfast and dinner. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them, or to visit again.
