We enjoyed the living space with the large glass windows/doors. The check-in time was delayed over an hour which caused for a very long travel day. The listing had the beds as a king and a double, however, it was a queen and a double. No big deal for us, but still an error in the listing. There was mold in the two bathrooms too and the kitchen was not very clean (dirty dishes in the cupboards, etc.) Our stay was still pleasant and we felt very safe in the location. Although we had some issues with the place we did find it relaxing and we experienced restful night sleep, which was priority.

When we arrived, the apartment was a sauna. It's on the fourth floor (if you count the ground floor as the first), and heat rises. However, after opening all of the windows, it cooled off fairly quickly. This presented our first issue. The window (door) panels opposite the kitchen would not open due to the base of the locking mechanism no longer attached to the frame. It took several minutes to actually get things aligned so it could be closed tightly. The neighbor below said it was a long running issue and when guests are unable to properly close the door it leaks rainwater into her apartment. The back window panels did open all the way and provided great ventilation.While we were addressing the door issue, we heard chirping that repeated every minute (we timed it). At first, we thought it was the hallway smoke detector. After trying several other things to make it stop, my husband finally took it apart and removed the battery. Then we heard another chirp! Turns out it was the carbon monoxide detector, which was also in the hallway. He was unable to do anything with it, so we wrapped it up in a towel and put it in a kitchen drawer.Throughout this, I was in contact with the owner. However, honestly, he wasn't much help. For example, when he asked if I wanted him to send someone, l said yes. But no one ever came.The kitchen refrigerator was very small with an icebox that was caked in ice.
