I recently stayed at this apartment in Edinburgh and had a mixed experience. There are definitely some great aspects, but a few things did detract from the overall comfort.**Positives:*** The **location is excellent**, especially if you plan to use public transport—buses were easily accessible.* The apartment itself has a **charming old-world feel** that really suits the Edinburgh vibe.* It felt **cosy and welcoming**, a nice place to come back to after a day of exploring.* There are **lovely little shops and cafes nearby**, which added to the local experience.**Areas for Improvement:*** We **couldn’t figure out the heating system**, and there were no clear instructions provided.* One of the **three door keys was very difficult to use**—it took several tries each time to get it to work.* The **main common area door didn’t lock**, which raised some safety concerns.* The **staircase was poorly lit**, and being on the **third floor** made luggage a bit of a challenge.* Some areas in the flat **seemed neglected by the cleaning team**—could have used a more thorough touch.* There was a **sign about rats** at the main entrance to the building. While we didn’t see any rats, it did make us wonder if it was meant to deter short-term rentals. All in all, the apartment has potential and could be a great stay with a few improvements.
