I’ve regularly chosen ibis One Central for my GITEX visits, relying on its consistency and convenience. Regrettably, this year’s stay was the most disappointing I’ve experienced. From the outset, the hotel appeared overwhelmed and poorly managed. A long queue at check-in signalled trouble, and things only worsened. Maintenance work—loud and disruptive—persisted from the afternoon until nearly midnight (11:45 p.m.). I enquired at the front desk at 6:30 p.m., 7:45 p.m., and again at 9:30 p.m., only to be told each time that the work was “almost done.” No resolution, no transparency. To make matters worse, one staff member responded with visible disdain, rolling her eyes as though I were being unreasonable for raising concerns. That level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable, particularly during a major international event. It’s disheartening to see a trusted brand falter when consistency matters most. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and implements meaningful improvements ahead of next year’s exhibition.

Upon our arrival at the hotel, we had to stand in line at the reception for a full hour before being checked in. Every day during our stay, there was constant drilling and renovation noise inside the hotel, which made it impossible either to work or to rest. This is especially disappointing, as the hotel presents itself as a business-oriented property. Despite raising multiple complaints, I realized that no action would be taken, particularly after construction noise continued even as late as 22:30. Since my trip was short, instead of switching to another hotel, I decided it would be more practical to tolerate the inconvenience and complete my stay. I been travelled over 40 countries and this was my first time that management of hotel was so unprofessional and not customer oriented. I am sharing this feedback so you are aware of the significant disruption caused to guests and in the hope that such issues are addressed for future visitors.

Reliable comfort.

We have stayed many times at this hotel. It offers great value for money in the heat of Dubai, with easy access to metro and nearby shops and restaurants. This time, the room was not as well presented as usual, slippers and tissues were not present on arrival. However, a phone call rectified this. Coffee, extra tea bags, milk and water are all available by telephone request. As usual, we had a warm welcome and a comfortable stay.
