Enjoy privacy and relaxation during your stay at our 4 bedroom 2 full bathroom home located on the shores of Shelp Lake in Delton, Michigan. Located on a quiet country dirt road, our peaceful and private location means you will be able to take full advantage of a quiet weekend get-away or family vacation without neighbors close by!

Inside the house, we provide a fully appointed kitchen so our guests can create their favorite meals in the comfort of our home. We also provide a dining area to enjoy your home-cooked meals or a game night around the dining table! The large living room offers a beautiful view of the lake, as well as plenty of comfortable seating and a smart TV so you can access your own streaming accounts for a movie night or morning cartoons. With access to the upper deck directly from the living room, you can open the slider doors and let in the fresh breeze off the lake and sit on the deck and enjoy a cup of coffee and a book while overlooking the peaceful setting full of wildlife!

The main level offers the primary bedroom with a King bed and large closet space, as well as several windows with a nice view of the lake, and a sliding door that provides access to the upper deck. The main level also offers a full bathroom with a shower/bathtub combination.
On the lower walkout level you will find the 3 additional bedrooms and second full bathroom. The first bedroom on the lower level offers a queen bed and large closet, the second bedroom is a pass-through room and offers a twin-over-full bunk bed, and the 3rd bedroom offers a queen bed. The full bathroom on the lower level has a shower/bathtub combination as well as a separate shower.
We also have a recreation room on the lower level where you can enjoy a game of pool at our pool table.
Directly outside the doors from the lower level we have a deck with seating and a private sparkling 6-person hot tub for our guests to enjoy! Our hot tub is professionally maintained and is available to our guests year-round. We also have a campfire area for guests who wish to enjoy time by the fire overlooking the lake.

Shelp Lake is a private all-sports lake but best known for great fishing! The lake is approximately 50 acres and averages 65 feet deep. This lake is great to kayak and there is so much wildlife to enjoy! We offer 3 kayaks and a Paddle King paddle boat for our guests to use to explore the lake. We also have a dock for guests to use to access the lake by kayak or paddle boat. In the winter, Shelp Lake is a great spot for ice fishing or ice skating! For the ski/snowboard/snow tubing enthusiast, there are a few different ski hills just a small drive away as well!

Please note, the setting of this lake is best for guests who enjoy nature, kayaking, fishing, and being surrounded by wildlife. Due to the natural wetland environment of the lake (i.e. an abundance of lilypads in warmer seasons) this lake is not ideal for guests who are looking for a place to swim or float from a beach. However, if you enjoy kayaking, fishing, wildlife, and ultimate relaxation in nature... this is the place for you! If you'd still love to enjoy our lakefront property but wish for a sandy beach/swimming area to enjoy, please reach out to us and we can recommend some great day-use beaches nearby! Please note, Shelp Lake is a private lake that does not have public access/launch site, if you would like to bring your boat we can recommend nearby public launch sites if you wish to enjoy a day boating on a nearby lake while still taking advantage of the peaceful natural setting of our home.

We are equipped with an on demand whole house generator, to ensure our guests are able to fully enjoy their vacation even when sporadic power outages happen in the winter (due to snow or ice) and in the spring/summer months (due to high windows or storms).

For the convenience of our youngest guests, we provide a pack & play upon request. Please note that the pack & play must be reserved at the time of booking your reservation to ensure availability.

Please note: we have a motion-activated security camera installed on the front of the house facing the entryway and driveway.

Great location, quiet and peaceful. A perfect hangout spot for a large group of people. Kayaks and lakefront access, campfire and game room downstairs. Cons: some trash left in one bedroom, wasps’ nest on the balcony and 8-9 wasps that were able to get into the house despite closed windows. Leak in one of the bathroom toilets, but overall a clean place.

Nice weekend getaway for a wedding out of town near Gun Lake. Hot tub was great and we enjoyed playing pool. Blackstone grill was also nice. Lake was too low to enjoy fishing, the paddle boat or kayaks which was unfortunate, but we enjoyed a nice fire lakeside every night! Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful house on Shelp Lake

This house was just as described. The house is clean and nicely decorated and had everything we needed. The hot tub was nice and we used the fire pit one night. We had a little trouble initially using the keypad entry but the host responded immediately and was able to open it remotely. Would highly recommend this property for a quiet and remote experience. It’s about 15 minutes away from restaurants and shops.

Very accurate description in listing. The only disappointment was the water was too low to take out the pedal boat but we knew this was a possibility. The pedal boat is very nice and would be great for paddling around the lake. There are many kayaks available and we enjoyed our time on the quiet lake. The description was very honest and accurate for access to the water, this isn't a swim off the dock property if that's what you are looking for. It was perfect for our needs. The area is great still restaurants and groceries within 15 min drive. Nice big yard, plenty of wildlife to watch. The home was clean, updated and comfortable. The wifi was a little slow with multiple users but we had a good cell signal so were able to hot spot lap top as needed. Andrew was almost instant with his response to any questions/needs I sent him. Would definitely stay here again!

We loved our stay at this wonderful house on a peaceful lake. Enjoyed lots of quiet relaxation on the main level balcony and the lower level deck and fire pit. We especially appreciated the hot tub, the grill, and the tables for dining out on the balcony overlooking the water. Although it's not a good spot for swimming due to waterplants, we did enjoy getting out on the lake in the kayaks and paddleboat. We also loved the well-supplied kitchen, and comfy beds. Hosts are friendly and responsive to our questions. Overall a great stay!

Great Weekend Stay

We had a great stay at this house on the lake! We were in town for a wedding with my in-laws and our two kids (9, 11), plus our dog. The location was definitely more secluded and we liked that. We saw so many deer and birds and frogs. The fireflies were beautiful at night and the water was lovely. My husband and kids loved taking the paddle boat out, though the lily pads were a bit challenging to get through initially. The beds were so comfy! We had plenty of room and the bathrooms were nice. We liked having lots of outdoor seating in the mornings and evenings. The power was out due to a storm when we checked in but the host informed us ahead of time. It took a while for it to come back on so the house got pretty hot, but our host kept us updated with estimated times for it to be restored. We were also offered a later check out due to the inconvenience, which we really appreciated! We would definitely stay here again and recommend this to other friends hoping to visit the area.

Beautiful property

Everything was beautiful! Nice hot tub. Great padre boat. Right on the lake. No big deal but There was no big skillet or strainer in the kitchen. These are minor things but I wish I would have known so I could have brought my own. We wished there was stairs going off the upper deck for our dog with hip issues. We would definitely go back though. It was a great place!

Wish we had another day

We stayed here for an out of town wedding for my son. We could have used another day to relax in the hot tub and enjoy the beautiful deck overlooking the lake. Really nice home to relax for a few days.

Secluded nature-y getaway

Lovely secluded property that included all the amenities you might need for nice weekend getaway! The lake was peaceful and we had a great time using the paddleboat. The property was also great for backyard birding, I saw many species over our short stay here. We made use of the hot tub and fire pit and kitchen was stocked with utensils and cooking ware for cooking your own meals. Would come back again!

This property was just as we expected from the listing. We enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets, the hot tub, and the pool table.The kitchen has everything you need to cook and stay in, which is always a plus.Note - there were no soaps or shampoos in the bathroom, so remember to bring your own!

States wrestling tournament

This worked perfectly for what we needed. My kids were wrestling in a state tournament and we needed a place to relax, cook and sleep in between the chaos. This location had everything we needed to make that possible. Host is quick to respond when I reached out.
