Booked the property for the pool to be the focal point of the trip. Tried communicating about paying for the pool heating on February 18th, trip was scheduled for March 21st. Again tried communicating on March 12th and again silence. Tried all forms of communication, nothing. Reached out to VRBO and they provided an additional number which finally got a response from the husband of the property host. Turns out the pool needs a heater. Host assured me it would be fixed and once I tried to initiate paying for the pool heat the price increased from 25 per day in the listing to 40, because of inflation… and the listing is 4 years out of date according to the host and they work 2 jobs so the lack of communication is due to that. Very frustrating experience, we decided to continue with the booking as coincidently this all occurred outside of my refund window. Now for the good. The resort was nice, the pool area at the resort was mostly deserted and very clean and nice as well. This helped make up for the pool at the house being cold as ice. The house was clean for the most part and the area felt safe as it’s a gated community. The check is process could have been better, we were turned away at the gate because the community requires each car to be on the list to enter which the host never bothered to ask how many cars would be granted access but they responded instantly to this hiccup thankfully. Overall an average experience but wished it could have been better.
