As a solo traveler on my first trip to Vietnam, I booked the Panoramic River View Suite expecting peace, comfort, and true hospitality. Unfortunately, my 3-night stay was frustrating and far below 5-star standards. At check-in, I asked about the “food court” because I was hungry. I was told bluntly, twice, “There is no food court,” with no clarification or alternative offered. English communication at the front desk was poor. The service continued to disappoint. A front desk staff member escorted me to my room but entered without removing her shoes — a sign of cultural disrespect in East Asia and unacceptable in a luxury setting. Later that day, I went to the outdoor pool bar intending to order food. Despite making eye contact with two male staff members, I was completely ignored while they continued talking among themselves. I was never acknowledged. Hoping to salvage the day, I visited the spa to inquire about services. The female staff could not communicate due to the language barrier. I returned to my room feeling frustrated and that I had wasted an entire day. Sadly, the discomfort continued. The A/C in my suite was weak and couldn't cool the room properly, especially with afternoon heat pouring in. Condensation formed on the ceiling vent — a clear sign of poor maintenance. The toilet flushed poorly, and the shower barely had hot water. Even the towels were thin. I felt like I lost two out of my three days here. I would not recommend it to international travelers.

We had a wonderful 12 night stay at Melia. The hotel is strikingly beautiful with so many options for guests. We stayed in a panoramic view room that gives incredible views of the Han river from every window! A beautiful, spacious room that is perfect for a long stay or special occasion. Bottled water is provided daily as well as the usual tea and coffee. Bathroom amenities are excellent. The handwash and shower gel smell great! Body lotion, shampoo and conditioner, soaking salts, comb, toothbrush, shaving kit, all provided. You need bring nothing. We enjoyed the pool bar daily for happy hour cocktails. With a great variety of drinks, snacks and wonderful staff! Moss bar downstairs also offers a great variety of drinks and food with a beautiful ambience. Must try the coconut iced coffee. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful with a wide variety of food and delicious baked goods. The Bahn mi station is such a great addition! The Han River restaurant is sensational! With a variety of tastebuds catered for. The food is fantastic and service EXCELLENT! The YHI spa is a luxurious experience you must try. Beautiful and serene. Within walking distance you’ll find Vincom mall for all your needs. It is quick ride from the Lady Buddha and beach areas. Son Tra night market is within walking distance as well as dragon bridge. There is so much to do in the area! Above all the staff at Meliá are a standout! You will not be disappointed.

BEYOND EXCELLENT HOTEL!!!

EXCELLENT Hotel! The Melia VInpearl Danang Riverfront is a dream of a hotel to stay in when you visit Da Nang! This 5 star hotel has top of the line service. The staff is professional and kind, the venue is beautiful, location is fantastic. The General Manager, a young gentleman from Spain, was very nice and courteously approached us to welcome and greet us! You could see him always smiling and hands-on in different areas of the hotel, making sure everything runs perfectly and smoothly. Frankly, he is beyond all expectations! One can only see why, the Melia Vinpearl Danang Riverfront is such a great hotel! Seated right across from the river you can walk or ride anywhere; it is a 7 minutes walk away from the Dragon Bridge and Night Market, and 3 minutes walking from a shopping mall. Their breakfast buffet is an absolute delight, offering an array of food from Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese, and International cuisines, and a delicious Gazpacho and Tortilla Española (the Melia is a Spanish chain). It has 2 swimming pools -one inside and one outside- both warm and inviting, with a very nice poolside menu and impeccable service. On weekends, there is a barbecue and a very good live band that plays super nice music to provide a cool ambience without being loud or obnoxious. The hotel also has a kids-zone that is a dream of a place for little children (I have never seen such a wonderful, dedicated space for kids, anywhere else) even I wanted to spend time there! SUPER RECOMMEND IT

The biggest problem is that the constitution just beside the hotel is working 24 hours a day and making loud bang noise during the night and it’s very difficult to sleep The staff is just ingredible nice and friendly and very cooperative the manager in the restaurant and in the buffet breakfast Mr Thomas is a supper gentleman I wish he was working for me He deserves a raise or even and upgrade position I really need to thank him for all his efforts to do the best he could to accommodate all his guests

Overall hotel was very nice, but my experience is mediocre. I didn't like that the fact that someone try to enter the room after I checked in as I was resting. It could be room service, but I just checked in so that was not necessary. During check in, I handed my bags to them, but they just left it idle without taking it and storing it. I had to keep my eyes on the bags until I got so frustrated and told them that they need to store it correctly. That is some bad service for such a hotel.

Staff at the pool and spa were lovely. Unfortunately, build quality is not up to international standards. Soundproofing for rooms needs to improve to deliver a comfortable guest experience.
