Great hotel, I always stay here for business when in Christchurch. The hotel is clean, rooms are comfy and the restaurant serves great food.

Whilst not the most exciting hotel, can’t fault the Rydges Latimer on much. Good location a 10 min walk to downtown, staff were all very pleasant and efficient, room was nice and dinner at the restaurant was good. Good for a short stay

Hotel is tired and run down. Rooms look far older than 12 years old. Expected far more from Rydges chain. Front desk staff were underwhelming. Spoke with an Indian and Asian woman when we checked in. We arrived at 2.35pm but rooms were not ready. This was fine as check in was 3pm. What wasn’t fine was when I asked how much longer until the rooms were ready - they never got back to me. I had to ask again at 3pm and they were getting the key cards ready. Bathroom only fits one person at a time. Door opens into whoever is on the toilet! Showers will flood the bathroom floor if you don’t open the glass door inwards. We had a room on the third floor and opened the window as the AC unit was noisy. Big mistake. Recycling of glass bottles will be thrown into the bin late at night and delivery trucks will leave their engine running from 5am onwards. Forget getting any sleep in this woeful place! Do NOT stay here!

Room was excellent, clean and very quiet. Amenities were great. Staff was helpful and as an Expedia silver guest a full sized bottle of wine was provided. The hotel is within walking distance of shopping areas and eateries. The river is not far as well as the botanical gardens. Loved on site parking as we did not need our vehicle while staying. Would highly recommend for a stay in Christchurch.

Very nice hotel, great rooms, very spacious penthouse with a sunroom and large living room and dining area. The staff are extremely accessible and helpful. The breakfast is wonderfully done as well. Highly recommend.
