Stunning property and wonderful location with a brilliant bakery next door. Comfortable beds and good amenities. Unfortunately there were a number of issues that the host was less than understanding about and the host's handling has caused us much distress. There was building and construction works going on from roughly 8.30-5pm each day and directly next to the garden and a bedroom window that was not told to us prior to booking which was obviously not idyllic or peaceful. We wouldn't have booked if this was known. Further to this we were told the hot tub was not working the first day (then told it actually was that night when we were going to bed); the lawn was unmown with long grass and many spiky weeds; there were large stinging nettles which one of our small children hurt themselves on; and the poor communication, customer service and acknowledgement of these issues has been stressful and upsetting when we paid so much money. We are sad that our holiday was tainted by things out of our control, but the mismanagement of the issues created such upset when we just wanted a peaceful getaway with the money we had saved. A little understanding and kindness goes a long way and we have been incredibly impressed with VRBO's handling of the situation. We have taken a while to review as we felt intimidated by the host, but have been advised by VRBO that it is our right to leave a review.
