Great place to stay w plenty of parking and easy access to the lake via boat ramp or walk down the hill for adventurous folks. We had 15 of my family last weekend and were very comfortable. I would stay again and recommend this place. Thanks to the owners.

Peaceful retreat

Beautiful property with an abundance of space. Entire process was quick and easy, property owners were very kind and helpful. Would stay here again.

Pretty, Spacious, and Clean

The owners were very gracious, checking in prior to the stay, and being available should questions or need arise. The cabin is just like the pictures, very comfortable, and beautiful especially with the Fall colors.

Great Cabin for Family

Perfect long weekend trip with family of all ages! The cabin was as expected and comfortable. A steep walk to the dock, but worth it for the lake views, swimming, and boating! The hosts were super responsive and kind, going out of their way to help us.

Weekend Getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed the cabin. It had everything needed and even items for my infant grandchild. My family enjoyed the extensive game selection and outside area was perfect for hanging out.

Beautiful cabin!

We had a great time. The cabin was beautiful and the kids especially enjoyed the loft area. Plenty of space. We had a great time swimming in the lake and singing around the fire pit😁! The kids had an epic game of hide and seek too! Wonderful communication from the hosts and everything was very clean!

Perfect Holiday Weekend

The property was perfect for our needs. It was a huge, open space that had multiple areas for people to gather and hangout. The private dock worked out great, no need for us to pull the boat out of the water each day... we were able to tie it up right at the house. The house was stocked with all of the appliances and cookware that we needed. Great space for a big group! Very happy with our stay :)

We very much enjoyed our stay at Jr’s Place. The only complaint we would have is that the dock/water access was very difficult to get to. The water level was way down when we were there so that did affect the dock and access to it, but if you are looking for water access this probably isn’t it. There are no pictures to show this on the listing. Otherwise, the owners were very pleasant and easy to work with. We would stay there again but plan our lake access differently.

Spring break

We had plenty of room for 3 families. Great area to find places to hike. We ran the dishwasher daily with this group. The hot water didn’t always keep up… but overall it was roomy inside and out. The outdoor fire pit area was nice to roast marshmallows. We had room to play cornhole as well. Wonderful host that communicated well.

Great family entertaining area

We were very happy with our stay. The owners were very helpful and answered all our questions. The living room and kitchen area were great for all 15 of us to hang out, eat and play games in the evening. The upstairs loft was a great place for all the teenagers to hang out and sleep. There was plenty of room to park cars and trucks and trailers. The path to the boat dock is a little difficult but there is a railing and we managed fine. Thank you for sharing Jr's Place with us! Hope to be back soon!

My experience

This cabin was wonderful! All of my family was here to enjoy the Christmas weekend and we had a great time. There was some weather troubles but the owners were very attentive and had great communication with us! There is a beautiful view out to the lake and the cabin was decorated with the Christmas theme including a tree which made it much more welcoming! Over all this is great cabin and issues might be in countered but the owners do there job to solve it!

Lots of room!

We rented this cabin for my parents' 40th Anniversary weekend. Our whole family (kids and grandkids) got together for the weekend and enjoyed our time together immensely. The home has plenty of space so everyone can spread out but also nice communal space to spend time together playing games, etc., as well. Our family loved the large game cabinet full of board games. Our only real complaint was the stairs. We had a couple falls while we were there. They are wood and slick and pretty steep. Just something to keep in mind depending on who all you have staying.

Best Host Ever!

We rent a few times a year and rented this house for our yearly family lake trip. Bob and Bonnie were fantastic! Communication before and during our stay was nearly immediate. They went over and above to make our stay as accommodating as possible. The house itself is very charming and extremely spacious. We are always stretched for rooms and beds, yet had no problems this week. Lake access is a little steep but the path is well defined, stepped and sturdy. I could go on but it would be more and more of the same positive experiences from our stay. We plan on being back!

Sibling and sget-together

Rental as always easy through VrBO. Property spacious. Met with 2 brothers and their wives. Location was perfect for us to meet. We enjoyed hiking in the area and moonbow at Cumberland Falls. Only downside was that we are all 6. 60 - 70 year olds and while pretty fit, bad knees and backs made the loft and basement access difficult - would have better served younger family groupings. Also we were glad that we did not bring our boat as the walk down to the dock is very steep (note this was made worse due to water level). Owner was very responsive. Thank you.

The house was spacious and comfortable for the 10 of us. It was well equipped with a cabinet of games and lots of outside seating. The long table was handy for making homemade pizzas. The open floor concept allowed lots of room for our little ones to play and the high chair was a plus. Bring firewood if you want a fire. The walk down to the dock was a bit rough because the lake level was low and the stairs didn’t go all the way to the dock. The dock has a rough wake and it beat up our wave runners. The neighborhood launch is narrow and I wouldn’t recommend using it for pontoons. A few miles away there is an excellent launch at General Burnside Island State Park with lots of parking. We didn’t care for that end of the lake because there weren’t many coves to hang out in. We loved the house and now want to buy a lake house.

Has character

There was plenty of space and a nice view for 10 adult family members. Very cool style and layout was great! Lots of games available for rain or at night that we enjoyed. We did have problems with the showers though. One only had on or off, no temperature control. The other had a loose hot valve and didn't regulate well or provide any water pressure for the shower. It was scalding or cold. The lights also flickered throughout the house when any hot water was on, which was weird. Parking was great, and the fire pit area was awesome! We

Nice place for extended family stay

The property was great for our extended family. The open great room and kitchen was large enough to accommodate, yet there were plenty of spaces one could go to get away if needed. Two bedrooms on the main floor were welcomed for those that have trouble navigating stairs. The inside stairs to the loft are steep, but access from the deck was easy. Plenty of sleeping options upstairs and downwas welcomed as well. The game room was well used and the abundance of board games and puzzles was nice as well. The wifi worked as advertised, and although some of the pots and pans could be replaced with ones that sit flat on the glass stovetop, there were plenty of choices. Having two refrigerators was nice so that we could stick up on food, because the property is a bit of a windy drive from the nearest grocery store, however, we found that Dollar General was more equipped to satisfy our grocery needs. We rented a boat from the local marina and had a great day of boating and tubing. We also took a trip over to see Cumberland Falls and do some horseback riding which was fun and reasonably priced. The property owners were easy to reach and very accommodating. Overall we had a great time and things went very well. Recommended!

It was a beautiful home! My family had a great time for the Christmas weekend even though we experienced some weather troubles the owners had great communication! The home is very specious for a big family like mine the only thing is that if you are of age or have any disabilities walking down or up the stairs may be hard! Overall this home was beautiful creating a very good vibe!

Family Christmas Getaway

The cabin was plenty spacious and clean. There were just a few let downs, as it being out family "Christmas" getaway, it would've been nice to had a Christmas tree especially in Dec months, but I did ask before we went. Also, for the people this cabin will hold, there definitely needs to be at least one more bathroom and the main floor bathroom needed some TLC w/ the shower. It didn't drain very well at all. But overall, we enjoyed our stay and would probably book this cabin again! Thanks, Burns Clan

Family Thanksgiving

We had an amazing time staying at this property. It was perfect for a large family with kids of all ages. Property was extremely clean and welcoming. The host were responsive and super friendly. We would definitely stay here again for our family Thanksgiving!
