The location is excellent because it is a beautiful part of the city with a lot of restaurants and shops and close to all main attractions that the city has to offer. 24hs security (very friendly).

Callao Plaza Suites

Convenient and safe location. Plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. The famous bookstore "El Ateneo" it's is only 200 meters from the place. Walking distance to several iconic places, but is also possible to get a taxi, UBER or public transport 8in this situation you must buy and charge a local card named SUBE). For the summer season, there is a swimming pool, which an oasis in Buenos Aires city. Fitness space is limited.

The phone line was down during the whole stay (4 nights). For those without cellular roaming, it is painfull to be isolated, unable to receive or make a single call. Extremely noisy neighbors returning at 5 am from the disco. and turning on loudly their Colombian music. No staff was available at that time. Doors are old and walls pretty thin...

The principal problem was the poor maintenance in the room (walls and floor) and the bad first looking of the bed. In general, they need more effort because the location is great.

Does the job

The first room were were offered was a smoking room and looked very worn and uninspiring. They moved us to a nonsmoking room that was night and day better. Clean, convenient (with the small kitchen), and great value for the money. Also, the management was really responsive and accommodating. Pool was a nice addition for the kids.

Great, except for...

Not a hotel. These are 4 or7 suites in an office bldg, ergo no concierge persons to help out. BUT room was comfortable -bed was fantastic! - had fridge, micro, sink, etc., and location was very convenient to subte and walking destinations. We were met 1st day by rep who spent an HOUR explaining everything; how to work the micro and the TOASTER for Crissake! Then she asked about our plans, and the travel agent came out. She ended up booking a day trip to an estancia for us, which was good. Her credibility collapsed when we asked her about an overnite trip to Colonia, Uruguay, and she quoted us a hotel rate of $200 a nite EACH - total of $400. But she did give us some helpful suggestions otherwise. Very strange approach tho.

I do not speak any Spanish and the office in not on the site. A security man with only SpanishThe office was serveral miles away. Just no way to ask questions or where a store is located.

Excellent location

This is more an apartment that a hotel so you don't have room service or other amenities but we didn't care. I thought it was great because it has a kitchennette and a table, a futon. You can entertain in your room if you want to.The view to the Plaza (square) was unbelievable. The location is excellent. You can walk everywhere. Would definetly recommend.

Very convenient & plenty of space

This place was a good location and rooms at the back very quiet away from any street noise. Plenty of space in the room and adequate "quick meal" facilities. The room was in dire need of new carpet but shampooed on the day we arrived so it was clean enough. New paint & carpet was scheduled for "next week" - if this did take place, the room would be an excellent choice. Very good service from the agency representative who met us with the key and provided local information.

For the price this accommodation is a good base to explore Barrio Norte and Recoleta. The negatives were the poor lighting in the apartment; a certain stale smell, and dirty curtains and carpet. It needed a repainting. Some of the kitchen equipment needed to be replaced. Also there are no apartment staff at the location apart from the door guard. It was also very noisy during the day due to construction in the adjoining building. The pool was being repainted when we stayed. The positives are it is secure, well located, and quite large. Daily maid service was included.
