Overall, the property and the room felt dated, poorly maintained, and represented poor value for money. For the whole of our 3 day trip, 2 of the 3 lifts were out of order, meaning a ~10 minute wait for an empty-enough lift from the 9th floor, which in itself was unacceptable enough. The room itself is clearly in need of some refurbishment: - the mattress was hard as a rock - side panels under the radiator had falled off - The bathroom was tired with cracked tiles - The bathroom ventilation vent was caked with dust - The bathroom door lock didn't work - The noise insulation might as well not have existed - very easy to hear a conversation next door, and constant hallway noise Additionally, two pillows had marks on, the tea/coffee/milks were not replaced during the room service, and there appeared to be an old stain or iron burn on the floor which hadn't been patched. I would expect a lot better from a Marriott and given the amount of money paid, and could not recommend staying here based on this particular visit and room.

I enjoyed my stay overall at the hotel. The room I stayed in was spacious, the shower was great, and there were facilities in the room to make a tea in the morning before I checked out. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from Bristol Temple Meads station, and a couple of minutes walk from the main shopping district in the city centre. One downside was soundproofing of the rooms. There were a few other people (a family with young children) staying in the adjacent rooms were talking loudly in the corridor, and going between each other’s rooms, between 10.15pm and 11pm or so. And, each time their doors shut, it was pretty loud. This stopped me getting to sleep, and I had to wake up early on the Sunday morning to travel home - so not ideal. Another downside was the lifts. When I returned to my room on Saturday night, only one lift seemed to be operating. I had to wait a while, and my room was fairly high up, so stairs weren’t an option. On the morning of check out, there was a wait for the lift then too - by the time it reached the terrace floor, it was pretty full. I get that it gets busier in the morning due to breakfast, but it would have been ideal if the lifts were more frequent. Otherwise, a decent hotel.

They provided a room upgrade which was great. Unfortunately, we had to change rooms due to the ac unit leaking water making the carpet wet. Staff took care of the issue immediately and were very kind. We ended up with our original room type which was fine. Enjoyed the complimentary hot chocolate in the evening.

I've now stayed here many times and this is by far the best hotel in Bristol! The staff are all wonderful. Gigi on reception is such a wonderful member of staff. The chef for breakfast unfortunately I forgot her name is truly amazing! She cooks a great omlette. The breakfast is incredible!

Room felt very dated, and cold, tv can only use normal channels which I find annoying. Bathroom was nice & clean. Good gym. Room very noisy with road and room next door which wasn’t ideal. Checking in took ages! And after a long day working just wanted to get to the room. Really did take a long time, maybe a self check in/out may be more efficient? Would stay again for a night but not any longer.
