The early check in/out was great at no extra cost. The checkin lady asked me if I had paid because and said that she couldnt see my details online. She came across as very aloof. When coming back from a night out at around midnight - I was approached by an undesirable man whilst waiting for the lift. I ignored him when he was talking to me-he had previously been standing by the recepton desk when I entered the building. I did not feel safe in the hotel at that moment when I was approached by this stranger. When I went down for breakfast the next morning after waiting on my own for 5 minutes before being acknowledged to be seated. I gave the waitress my room number and then she asked me if I had paid? After eating some fruit I then went to get a full English breakfasrt. There were no hash-browns or mushrooms and I asked if some was coing out in which I was told 10 minutes. I got up a few times whilst eating my breakfast to check if anymore had been bought out to the eating area and was able to get a hash brown. I had to wait until I was on my second plate of food to get some mushrooms. There are

Novotel, Wolverhampton.

Polite and helpful reception staff. Comfortable room which was clean. Bed very comfortable. Reasonable selection from the menu for an evening meal and the food is prepared well. Breakfast caters for all needs from full English through to continental and vegetarian with a good selection of fruit.

Poor standards off putting for the price paid

Not so great for what was paid. Sofa bed wasn’t ready for us even though we replied to the message saying we did require it. It was sorted for us later on as requested though. Sofa bed was very uncomfortable and couldn’t get a good sleep on it. Arriving at the hotel we was faced with a range of empty wine bottles littered outside our hotel room door. It felt dirty and for what we paid it didn’t reflect the price. There was also pizza boxes scattered further up the corridor. Stayed in cheaper places and been cleaner on arrival. Not sure why the litter was so evident outside the room either when it was late afternoon, it looked like previous guests had left then and not been cleaned. Probably wouldn’t stay here again unless no other choice sadly. Entrance and bar was nice and I’ve stayed at other Novotels but this one just let us down.
