Lake View Family Retreat w/ Deck, Fire Pit & Games
Welcome to Your Peaceful Lakeside Escape
Experience true serenity, perfectly positioned just across the street from the tranquil Trails End Lake. If you’re looking to swap city noise for the sound of nature, you’ve found your haven. Because powered boats are prohibited, the water stays glassy and quiet—ideal for a morning paddle or a lazy afternoon of swimming.
The Space Inside, you’ll find a warm, open-concept living area featuring rustic knotty pine and large windows that frame the lake and mountain views. Spread out in over 3,000 square feet of living space, including a master suite with a renovated tile shower and a daylight basement perfect for evening relaxation. Outside, the massive front deck is your front-row seat to the PNW—perfect for a BBQ or your morning coffee as the mist rises off the lake. Behind the house is a spacious playground area for your little ones.
The Great Outdoors at Your Doorstep - Angler’s Paradise: Drive to the public Trails End Lake parking lot a quarter mile away and hang your Discover Pass while you explore the lake. The lake is regularly stocked with trout, making it a favorite destination for fishermen of all levels. - Paddle & Play:Grab a kayak or a floatie; the "no-motor" rule ensures a safe, calm environment for families. - Explore the Olympic Peninsula: A short, scenic drive brings you to Hoodsport on the Hood Canal. Spend your days hiking local trails, spotting wildlife, or soaking in the dramatic mountain-meets-water views.
Local Charm & Day Trips When you're ready for a change of pace, the nearby towns of Belfair, Hoodsport, and Union offer a perfect blend of Pacific Northwest culture: Sip & Savor: Enjoy local wine tastings, waterfront dining, and cozy cafes. Shop Small: Discover unique treasures in antique shops, explore authentic tribal art, and browse charming local boutiques.

Very clean! Host communicated quickly. Has beach access within walking distance but bring a beach towel. House has everything else and floor plan is excellent for big groups. Lots of space with all the comforts of home. Highly recommend!!
We very much enjoyed our time in this property, but it's not quite flawless. The vast majority of things fall on the good side: The house is very clean, very spacious, well-taken care of and well-appointed. You can tell it's owned and used regularly by an actual family, as opposed to strictly being used as a vacation rental. So there are lots of homey touches, and there's no lack of little things you sometimes miss in a renters-only VRBO (spices, for example, or all the necessary kitchen gadgets). Fun playrooms for big people and little people. Check-in/out were easy-peasy; Kathleen, the property manager, was super-communicative and helpful. The balcony is huge and has a nice view. The location is very convenient to both Hood Canal area and Case Inlet.
The only knock on the place is that the grounds are a bit rough. The property is quite big (maybe an acre and a half) and there's a children's play area with a swing-set jungle gym. But the grounds are mostly gravel and pretty weedy/sticker-y, and it kind of seems like at one time, they were largely used as a big parking lot. That didn't cause us too much problem, but it IS the difference between four and five stars.
Such a rad spot for a 4th of July getaway. The whole neighborhood went all out with the fireworks it was seriously one of the coolest shows we’ve seen, and the vibe all weekend was awesome. The lake was perfect for hanging out, swimming, and just soaking up the holiday. The house had plenty of space for everyone, and there were tons of games that kept the kids busy and having fun.Overall, just a super fun, easygoing place to kick back and make some great family memories. We’d definitely come back.
