Tom Callow’s Gorgeous Cottage is charming and conveniently located within a short walk of the local pub. However, after booking, guests must either pay £30 for damage protection or a £5 fee plus a refundable £300 damage deposit. With the exception of the kitchen, the cottage has light cream carpeting that shows dirt very easily, even though we never wore shoes indoors. This seems particularly impractical for a pet-friendly property. The internet connection was unreliable and unsuitable for streaming, and several chairs and furniture cushions were noticeably worn and collapsing. Overall, the cottage has plenty of character but would benefit from better maintenance and more transparent disclosure of the additional charges before booking.
