Do you want to spend your vacation in a unique Cape Hatteras beach home? The Tree House offers expansive ocean views from almost every room - perfect for a romantic getaway, fun with friends, multi-family gatherings, and big and little children alike. Thoughtfully refreshed in 2021, this cozy island treasure features all-new paint, decor, and appliances. The redesign creates a clean and fresh feel while maintaining the home's historic charm.

Situated on a private cul-de-sac with easy beach access - put on your suit, grab a towel, and you'll be on the beach in minutes. Pick up your favorite carry-out meal from a variety of excellent local restaurants or cook your fresh catch on the gas range. The kitchen is well-equipped with all a chef's needs including extras like a toaster oven and a large griddle for pancakes.
Enjoy views of the sunset over the sound from the wrap-around porch while sharing your meal with friends or family. The covered area under the home contains a fish cleaning station, two newly built outdoor showers, and a separate hose for cleaning off the day's fun. There is also plenty of room for kids to play on rainy days in the shaded, sandy area under the home. Spend your evenings watching shows on the 42” smart TV. The high-speed internet allows multiple people to stream at the same time. Peruse a collection of puzzles, games, and books for all ages in the entertainment center.

The Avon Pier is located just over a mile north and is a great destination for morning walks. The convenient sound-side access at Haulover, just 1.5 miles south offers a completely different water experience with shallow, calm waters ideal for small kids and adventures like kitesurfing. The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse is 10 minutes south and the oscillating light can even be seen from the south side deck.

THINGS TO KNOW
●Pool Option 1: The homeowners of this property have provided complimentary access to the Kinnakeet Shores Olympic-sized pool, kiddie pool, tennis, and pickleball courts. Access to these amenities is available during the peak rental season. Address: 41184 Kinnakeet Blvd, Avon, NC. A second option is the community Club Hatteras pool at 41156 NC Hwy 12 Avon.
● Pool option 2: The Club Hatteras pool, located at 41156 NC Hwy 12 Avon.
● Walk just ½ mile north to local restaurants and the Food Lion grocery store.
● Take a 1.5 mile walk north along the beach to the Avon Fishing Pier where you can
enjoy a different view of the rolling waves and see fishermen reel in their dinner. Grab
some coffee and a homemade breakfast or lunch from the food trucks located at the
pier in the summer months.
● Sound access is just 6 miles south on Rt.12 to Haulover Beach, also known as Canadian
Hole. This is a perfect location to enjoy calm relaxing waters. Small children can play
in this pool-like water (approximately 2' deep) while parents enjoy floating on rafts
and the views of kite surfers whirling in the wind. Take your camera for spectacular
sunset views!
● If you have 4WD, take some air out of your tires and drive out on the beaches off Billy
Mitchell Rd in Frisco. There you will find calmer waves for smaller kids to enjoy.
●Towels and sheets are provided (all beds are made and ready for your arrival). Note: single bed sheets (for the upper bunks and daybed) are provided but the beds are not made.

Great beach house experience

The Tree House was a great place for our family to celebrate our annual beach week. It had plenty of room but still afforded privacy while keeping everyone under the same roof. The amenities are great. Overall, a great location and house for a wonderful week at our favorite vacation spot.

A great choice for your visit to Avon

The view of the ocean from the balcony is excellent, and it is extremely convenient to the beach. You will love how easy it is to go back and forth safely to the beach with your family. The place itself and the surrounding neighborhood have a very relaxing vibe that is reminiscent of how the Outer Banks felt in decades past. You won't regret staying here.

Great Beach House

The bedrooms were spacious. Excellent wifi- no issues at all. I loved the outdoor deck area, the new outdoor showers and space under the house was very helpful. The beach access is about 20 yards from the driveway. The pool was lovely and just a quick bike ride away. The living, dining, and kitchen area was quaint, at times tight for 10 people, but worked just fine for us as we spent most of our time at the beach, pool, or outside. Vacasa did a great job managing the house. We had a slight issue with the central air but they brought over window units until the HVAC company could fix the central air (which was very quick). We had a great experience. I highly recommend the Tree House 38.

Enjoyed

Besides the hiccup with housekeeping when we first arrived, we enjoyed ourselves. After discovering all the missteps by housekeeping I alerted Vacasa and they rectified the situation. The house is very well stocked and tastefully decorated. The owners have provided everything you may need for a week at the ocean. The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms quite large. We spent a lot of time on the balcony enjoying the view and breeze of the ocean. This house is on a culdesac in a very quiet neighborhood. The walkway to the beach was next door. Our family of 8 will return next year.

House was Great , Customer service was NOT !

House itself was awesome , preparation of house for our stay was not . House was supposed to be ready for occupancy at 6 PM. We were texted a message that house was ready to move in . We arrived at approx 6:30 PM. House was not ready . It had not been cleaned and fresh linens were not on beds. I spoke to Vacasa Mgmt about situation and someone from Mgmt came to house . He told us that cleaning people were on the way with linens . They arrived shortly there after with linens and began a quick clean from previous renters . They acted like they just bring linens but don’t make beds . I spoke to supervisor about situation and he said he would take care of it . Eventually they made up the beds on lower level but acted like they didn’t have to do that . The master bedroom was never touched . We assumed that they put new linens on master BR . As we later prepared to go to bed we discovered that master had no linens on it and there were no King size linens anywhere in house . Tried to contact Mgmt but could not get hold of any one that night. Found one set of twin sheets . Put them on the king by using two sheets sideways on top of mattress . Had no top sheets ! 😥The next day they brought set of king sheets. When I could not get hold of anyone to help us that night , I did get hold of someone from customer service who was in Florida. He said he could not help us that night but would take care of situation . I told him I was totally not happy with situation and wanted a credit for one day to be returned to me . He said he would look into the situation and get back with me . He never did !!👎 I would like for someone from Vacasa Mgmt to contact me at xxx-xxx-xxxx to discuss situation . I am still expecting some one to contact me ! Not that it matters but I am a building contractor and I built that home , the Tree House back in 1983 . I am still expecting a call and a refund for that one day because of all the issues we had . Look forward to hearing from someone . Thank you.
