SunSite Estates Waterfront

We invite you to the Island of Manitoulin. Our cottage is available year round, and has all the amenities of home (including even a dishwasher, as well as a washer and dryer).

Located on the tranquil waters of Manitowaning Bay, you will undoubtedly enjoy your stay. The cottage features two bedrooms, the master being especially spacious. We can accommodate up to six guests, with a pull out couch.

The cottage is situate on a road off of Highway 6, about mid-way between South Baymouth (the Ferry terminus) and Little Current (where there is access to the Island by bridge).

Fishing is excellent (pike is plentiful). A world record brown trout was caught in the North Channel last Autumn.

There is a propane barbecue at the disposal of all our guests. TV, VCR and DVD are also available. Guests are kindly asked to bring their own linen. As no smoking is permitted within the cottage.

Championship golf is nearby at Rainbow Ridge (boasting the fastest greens in Northern Ontario).

Local restaurants are great, with many offering the local delicacy of whitefish from Lake Huron (two of our favourites are The Old Schoolhouse in Providence Bay and The Garden’s Gate Restaurant in Tehkummah).

A glorious week on the Island

This is our third stay at this lovely cottage. It has everything you need and has the benefit of seclusion, privacy, quiet, and being surrounded by nature. We look forward to this visit all year long :)

fantastic trip

our biggest takeaway from this location was how quiet and peaceful it was, we were there over Canada day ,no bugs we sat out having our coffee overlooking the water every morning . property was exactly as advertised entry in was easy . would not hesitate to book again

Great cottage

Must say, nothing but good comments to make about SunSight Estates Waterfront. Doug was quick to respond to any questions that we had. The cottage was spotless, and looked like it had been professionally renovated recently. Great kitchen, and very spacious throughout the cottage. We would not hesitate for a second to return at a later date and spend another enjoyable week.

Beautiful island property

We returned to Manitoulin where we honeymooned 50 years ago. The first few days we were on our own and another couple joined us later. Plenty of room and aside from a corkscrew(we left one there) and measuring spoons, we had everything we needed. Lots of wildlife and loved the sound of the waves. Great spot!

The Property is wonderful! We loved the Beach, the Deck, the surrounding area. There is lots of room and the wife loved the kitchen. Can't say enough good things about the location. .... only one thing I would change, and this is just me, I really missed not seeing the Baseball Playoffs so having a sports channel that plays live would make it 1000 percent, :) ... but again, this is just me. The Place was awesome! the time we spent there went waaaay to fast, wish I could do it all over again, sooner than later Thank you Doug and Zein,

Paradise!!!

Amazing cottage! I spent the week here to refuel and recharge and I will coming back! The view is spectacular, the deck facing east and feeling that morning sun was the best way to start my day. It’s a short drive to the village and perfectly located to visit the area. A MUST!

First Family and Friend get away

I’ve got a daughter who has epilepsy and a list of other complications. 2 years ago she had surgery that started us on a much more positive path. This is our first ever family vacation just myself and my 2 daughters. I invited my childhood friend to come along after reconnecting and this is exactly what we all needed! Sunsite Estates Cottage

I stayed at this cottage for three weeks in April while I was working in the area, and it was everything I was looking for, plus more. The location is convenient and the view of the bay is spectacular. The cottage was very clean upon arrival. Also, having the barbecue available to use was a huge bonus! The hosts were pleasant, friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a home base for adventures on this beautiful island.

Relaxing Getaway that has further potential

Communication was super easy and Douglas was quick to respond. Internet access can be iffy. Comforters didn't help to keep the chill out so would suggest warmer ones for late summer, mattresses need replaced. . .was a difficult sleep with the queen bed where you could feel the springs. Kitchen is beautiful but needs a severe upgrade for cookware - pans and pots were clearly abused by others and the best frying pan and pot were Betty Crocker brand. . .I love to cook so a little more judgemental in this area. Also, plates and bowls were chipped, again likely from poor use of others. Beach chairs and a firepit would be awesome additions for future guests. Some other improvements would be screendoor replaced on front door, sliding door fixed with proper lock so it remains shut and doesn't have a gap that allows bugs to continue coming in and the biggest thing would be to fix the shower/tub handle which goes cold in the hot direction, and a mix of both cold and hot at the bottom of the cold direction with the showerhead leaking water out. We truly enjoyed our stay but found some pf the neighbours from up the road noisey, especially as we headed into the long weekend with muaic blaring late into the night a few cottages over. Next door neighbour cottage dwellers were quiet and therefore lovely, they kept to themselves. Beach is very rocky as is the water but has a ton of quartz and fossils for those who love to collect or hunt for the aforementioned. Recommend watershoes. Thank you
