Lovely quaint rooms and kind staff

It’s very basic and worn but very clean and quaint. Staff universally friendly and helpful. Beds were comfy and our daughter loved the bunk bed in the family room. Fairly quiet for us at night but I don’t think they were fully booked. Very convenient to Alnwick Castle and Lilidorei. Would recommend 100% for a short stay (or longer if you aren’t fussy or expecting luxury).

Convenient location, but terrible bed!

The owner was friendly and helpful when we arrived. The bathroom in the room was updated and clean. The room was at the top of the hotel and was very cold. The room is heated by wall radiators, which are on an automatic timer. The heat did not come on until around 5am, so we were freezing all night. The bed is the most uncomfortable bed I have slept in. We could feel the springs in the bed and the mattress sloped. The location is great being right in the center of town.

Nice, friendly staff. Good food. Great location. Shower terrible. The shower could only be set on ice cold or dangerously hot. Almost unusable and potentially could scald an unsuspecting person or burn an elderly person or child. We reported it and were assured they would fix it (not for us obviously as this was not something easily fixed I presume)

The tavern below is lovely as is the bartender. But the rooms are a one-star at best, and are a firetrap. Carpets are disgusting..look like they havent been changed since 1965. If the price was $20 then fine. But not $90 with a supposed 3 star rating. Stay elsewhere.

Staff appears to be apathetic and abrasive or the very least cold upon arrival especially when they realise you have booked through hotels.com, but can be if there is a problem. The young lady behind the bar is not friendly to anyone other than regular customers, and original welcome is very cold quick and abrupt. All in all not a bad stay or value however if you're looking for warmth this may not be the place for you

Great hotel and town.

We stayed one night and thought the hotel was wonderful. It was very economical and quiet at night. We ate at the restaurant and the food was excellent. I would recommend a visit to Alnwick and to stay in this hotel.

English flavor and walking distance to the castle.

We truly enjoyed our stay and the staff was very professional and hospitable. The entire staff went out of their way to be accommodating. The food at the restaurant on the main floor was outstanding!
