It’s always exciting and a pleasure staying at W Hotels. What we have noticed however is the least available options for non-Pork eaters at breakfast. We believe there being perhaps options such as chicken/beef sausages as opposed to only Pork..?! The house keeping was fantastic, aside from staff moving one or two of my wife’s items from where she originally left them (Nothing majorly serious 🙂).. With that said, we had a wonderful experience at The W and would most definitely comeback should we ever have the opportunity to visit The Algarve at some point in the near future. Obrigado…. Overall the experience was excellent. Really enjoyed the stay and made us feel at home. The Whatever/ Whenever team is amazing and they made our trip a memorable one. The W Algarve delivered all it ‘said in the tin’ and then some. For those like me who are always skeptical when reviewing the hotel provided pictures, I can say that the rooms, the surrounding, the facilities, and the pleasant staff are exactly as described and portrayed. I needed a end of summer refreshing retreat and break for my family of five and it delivered from the moment we walked in to our final goodbyes! Perfect way to end the summer break. Thank you W!

Great hotel staff, poor location

My W Agarve stay in January was largely for quiet relaxation and writing, and in this regard this hotel was OK. The views of the ocean are fantastic from the room and the staff are great. My only reason for not giving a higher rating is the location. This is probably the least walkable area of Portugal I've seen in many trips to this beautiful country. The beach accessed on the property is tiny. There is no walkable beach area near the hotel. There is a sprawling suburb around the hotel and no real area to walk for restaurants or shopping. I'll not return because of the location. Staying in the Algarve again, I will find a place that is more walkable.

The hotel and staff were quite lovely during our stay. Unfortunately, we went during the low season and I definitely do not recommend doing that. There wasn't much to do in the surrounding area but that isn't really the hotel's fault. The one thing I will say that was not satisfactory at the property was the breakfast. For £35, I expected at least a little bit better of an offering from the buffet. Everything was quite stale and not many options. We elected to purchase the avocado toast which seemed more like an avocado spread than actual avocados (Avocados seem difficult to get in this region of the world as I have not had great luck in Europe in general finding fresh avocados like you can in the US). Other than that, I highly recommend the property as the rooms were extremely clean, very large, and the design is quite cool. It looks much better in person than it does in photos for some reason. Also, the staff was so friendly as you come to expect when visiting Portugal, it's just a totally different vibe from the people in the US and other parts of Europe.
