We really enjoyed our stay in Arlene's apartment. We arrived in late April and stayed for 30 nights so we really got to know the local area, the Algarve and inland to Beja and Monchique well.Arlene was very quick to respond and helpful on the couple of occasions that we reached out to her.The apartment was in excelent condition and the bathroom had just been renovated. (Very nice!)The kitchen had everythig that we needed.Groceries were easily available across the road at the Aldi Groccery chain, plus there was a local convenience store across the road.There is a three level store 5 minutes walk from the apartment called "The Fantastic Chinese store" which has litterlay everything except food.There are approximately 30 restaurants within 5 minutes walk of the apartment so we were spoilt for choice.There are also three beaches within a 15 minute walk of the apartment and 9 within a 20 minute drive.I have seen many debates about the issue of noise from traffic etc in Albufeira. Our honest assessment is that there are very few places that you can stay in Albufeira where you are not going to hear traffic.....just like any other westernized city of the size of Albufeira. Albufeira is NOT a small quaint old town. It is a holiday destination for many thousands of tourists from Europe and beyond. If you are looking for quiter enviroments think of staying in one of the smaller Algarve towns.Many thanks for accomodationg us Arlene. We really enjoyed our vacation.
