Even more stunning in person

The villa is even more gorgeous in person. Just a stunning, stunning place to stay if you are planning a visit to the eastern side of Crete. The attention to detail that went into the design/ architecture of this property kept surprising us. It was close to Agios Nikolaos, Elounda and Plaka so we could drive to get dinner in one of the towns in the evening. We were there in mid-July and I feared that since we weren't on the ocean it might get hot, but there was a beautiful breeze every day (even when the air was stagnant at the beach). And the inside is well equipped with powerful air conditioners. We were a family of 7. My parents, myself and my husband, my sister/ brother in law and their 8 month old. The villa is set up perfectly; there is the main part of the house with a kitchen/ living space and two bedrooms/ bathrooms downstairs. To the side of that are three large rooms with beautiful views, each with their own bathroom. These are connected by walls, but not connected with a door, meaning you have to step outside to get to the other rooms or the common space. We loved this because it allowed for privacy for each couple. Also was great because if someone from our party woke up early, they could make coffee/ breakfast without waking up others. Host Christine was lovely and communicative. When we come back to the Agios region, we will definitely stay here again! Thank you!

Setting was everything!

Location is breathtaking. People of Plaka were warm and the food delicious. There was more casual restaurants and shops in Elounda not so far away from Plaka beach area. The house itself is well appointed and beautifully lanscaped. The bedrooms smallish but good closets. The shower is really a one person shower and the beds and linens did not match the majesty of the home or location. The private beach is not a private beach specifically for people that rent Eagle’s view but rather an area related to it, though it was relaxing and beautiful. Christine was available and very helpful. All in all a wonderful experience.

Great location with amazing views

The property was fantastic with views that could equal anywhere in the world. Christina our host was so helpful and always available if we needed any assistants. The welcome pack was very much appreciated. There's a local mini supermarket Euro Mart who will deliver any groceries/Beer/ wine and fresh meat who are also very helpful. This is one of the best properties we have ever stayed at and with the quality of the cleanliness and customer service from Christina it was a FAB holiday

Lovely holiday

Super property, very comfortable. Lots of support from Christina (rep). Very steep driveway and roads to villa. Ok to drive once used to the drive. Village was lovely, not too crowded. Very happy with our location.

Spectacular!

Agree with all the previous posts about the beauty of this property! Got in late and Christine was graciously waiting for us. Kitchen stocked with fruit, water, coffee, snacks, yogurt, etc. so we didn't have to rush out to the market. Plaka was the perfect size town, with enough restaurants and shops offering everything we wanted. The 5 minute drive up to the house was much easier than expected. Beach club was great too!

Stunning views, awesome pool deck, easy access to town, wonderful host

Ideally situated high above Spinalonga Island, Villa Eagle was perfect for our group of three couples. Incredible views. Three identical bedrooms, all very comfortable. Ample lounging seating both under shade and around the enormous infinity pool. Christine the house manager was wonderfully helpful, filling us in on details of the house and the area. She recommended a local grocer, Dimitris Pitharoulis, whose Euro Mart grocery store delivered all our groceries to us - highly recommend! The drive uphill is steep but definitely manageable. Please note that drinking bottled water is necessary. Villa Eagle has my vote!

Wonderful villa wonderful view

We stayed as a group of 8 so made use of all four bedrooms. Villa was spotlessly clean on arrival. Christina was there to meet us and showed us how everything worked. The pool was lovely to swim in and we had the sun on the pool until around 5pm (October 2021). The beach area was great and the water was so warm in October and crystal clear and some of us brought snorkels to so the amazing fish. The kitchen area had everything we needed. We could not find a large supermarket in Plaka or Elounda but the one in Elounda did offer to deliver the shopping which was great we ordered, beef burgers, chicken, lamb, port chops and mince and it was of a really high quality. We enjoyed several bbq’s during the week as the weather was around 26 degrees. We loved Elounda and a taxi for 4 was 15Euros each way and we enjoyed several cocktails. You will need a car at the Villa we hired two cars from Easy Auto’s who were brilliant it was meet and greet at the airport and then again on our return we did not have to queue at all would certainly use them again and it was zero excess. We did have an earthquake while we were there and Christine was very quick to check up on us to make sure we were all ok. Lena the cleaner came to clean half way through our week and the place was spotless when we got back. Towels were also changed mid week. All in all a brilliant holiday. Thank you

Paradise vacation

Our party of six (my wife and I, two daughters and their husband/boyfriend) had a spectacular vacation staying at the Eagle View Villa. The online pictures reflect but do inadequate justice to the breathtaking views from all parts of the property. The house was perfect for 3 couples. There's a forth bedroom in the basement, bigger than the others, that served as a spare bathroom and stretching/yoga room. The house is immaculate. It's new, modern with all the expected conveniences. The rooms are all ensuite, have king sized beds and very comfortable, albeit somewhat compact. The outside areas are extraordinary. The patio is large and gorgeous with outstanding views overlooking the Aegean Sea and Spinalonga and Kalydon islands. Up a flight of stone stairs is a beautiful patio shaded by an olive tree with a small seating area, perfect for a morning meditation or reading. The vista is amazing. Our host Christine was gracious and always responsive, although we had little reason to contact her. Everything worked beautifully and was easy to maintain. The house was cleaned by the staff mid week. It was well stocked when we arrived so we had all the basics and more. The area is exciting; it has beautiful mountain countryside, quaint villages and is not overbuilt. Just below the villa down the mountain (5-10 minute picturesque ride) is the village of Plaka on the beach. The Villa has its own patio seating area a few steps up from the beach, which is all large pebbles (bring water shoes!). Plaka has many very good restaurants, several on the water with gorgeous views of the sea and islands; so no need to travel to more populated Elounda another 10 minutes away. You need a car; we had two for the six of us. There's plenty of parking space. Be prepared to travel on curvy, mountain roads on steep hills (mostly with no guard rails). There was virtually no traffic so traveling, while requiring concentration, was very easy and without stress. It helped that the weather was absolutely perfect. Mid to upper 80s every day, low humidity, bright sky with almost no clouds, and always a nice breeze; sometimes every windy. We had wonderful times going out and sailing for a day, snorkeling, exploring Greek antiquity at Knossos Palace. I went for a terrific mountain biking tour with a Martin from Martinbike in Elounda. And the rest of time, the family enjoyed hanging out by the pool and gazing at the view. It couldn't have been a better vacation.

Stunning views from Villa Eagle

The camera never lies, except when it doesn't do a property justice, this is especially so with Villa Eagle. Tasteful decor, not too fussy, but very well equipped; I can't remember ever renting a property with such a well tooled kitchen, and we've rented circa 60x properties. The location is 950ft / 300m above sea level and 2,5m / 4Km from Plaka via 5x serpentine curves. Please don't get distracted by the views on the descent, the road isn't fully fenced at the top. Car is essential. Super welcome from Christine whom looked after us all so well, as did Jimmy & Leila. Wonderful, complimentary basket of good quality fruit and so many provisions laid out for us. Breathtaking views over the bay and Spinnalonga. Get up early enough and breakfast with super sunrise vistas. 10-15 mins by car to Elounda and 40 mins to Agios Nikolaos. Small supermarket in Plaka, more comprehensive shopping requires a trip to Elounda or further afield. Restaurants in Plaka serve great quality food; the restaurants in Plaka & Elounda are busy in the high season, patience is a virtue but one that is rewarded. Enjoy. We did. Very Much.

Fabulous retreat

A warm welcome awaits you at Eagle view villa. Stunning views, warm breeze, incredible views. Great local food, and a super little super market than can deliver you local produce meats and fish. We had the best time!

Villa vue mer

Magnifique séjour dans cette villa avec piscine surplombant la mer, à 5 minutes en voiture de la plage de Plaka. Accueil très sympathique de Christine, explications sur les environs et excellentes recommandations des environs (restaurants et endroits à visiter). Les chambres sont complètement indépendantes des pièces de vie, conception donc particulière de la maison qui est ok avec des adolescents mais pas forcément adaptée avec des plus jeunes enfants.

Perfection, from start to finish

We cannot express enough just how fabulous the villa and whole experience was. Christine was waiting to welcome us at the villa upon arrival and ran through all of the necessaries so very thoroughly. The villa is set in a private gated, idyllic location and decorated to the highest standard. It has everything you could possibly need, although Christine was always at the end of the phone to help with anything from restaurant recommendations, to assistance in providing strong tape for a badly damaged suitcase in transit! Nothing was too much trouble. The outside area was incredibly clean and, with the cover across the pool each evening, the water was a perfect temperature. Christine left contact cards for a local taxi company which happened to be super plush Mercedes with impeccably dresses drivers (including masks, the new “normal”!) Some fabulous restaurants down in Plaka, certainly plenty of choice if you preferred to stay local rather than the 10-15 minute drive to Elounda. Villa Eagle certainly left an impression on the four of us and we fully intend to return in the future.

Lovely villa in a stunning location

Eagle View Villa is stunning in every way. The accommodation is perfect and the view truly spectacular. Plaka is easily and quickly reached by car - just a view minutes down the mountain and a little further you have Elounda and then Agios Nikolaos. Fabulous tavernas in all locations and all worth a visit for both wandering and eating. Everything about this villa was perfect and Christine and Jimmy were always on hand if we had any questions or concerns about anything and if something wasn't quite right, it would be right in a blink of an eye. Response was always very efficient and effective - we truly didn't have to worry about anything. Even when we asked where to buy BBQ charcoal, rather than tell us, it was just delivered to the villa! This assistance began even before we arrived with help over car hire (which worked well and was far cheaper than anything we had found online) and also ensuring we had all the necessary paperwork in place as we travelled during the global pandemic. I have never been so well looked after in a villa before - the attention to ensuring you have a good time in this villa goes beyond the norm and what you would necessarily expect. I am sure we will return to the area and hopefully this villa - having stayed here I'd be nervous to book anywhere else!
