Principal fishery: Salmon, Lake Trout, Small Mouth Bass, Chain Pickerel
Wilson Lake is located west of Wilton village. Its main inlet and outlet, Wilson Stream, enters the northwest side of the lake and exits the eastern tip meandering east into the Sandy River. Water quality in Wilson Lake is suitable for cold-water game fish. Salmonid spawning and nursery habitat is available in the inlet. A small native salmon population utilizes this habitat to provide a limited number of wild fish, which are supplemented with periodic stockings to maintain a fishery. Lake trout naturally reproduce using the rocky shoals to spawn and maintain a productive fishery. Salmonid growth is good despite competition from warm water fish species. The lake is occasionally stocked with brook trout to supplement a small native population. Wilson lake is accessible via a public launch site located just south of downtown Wilton. The lake is open to fishing under general law in both the summer and the winter season. Fishes: Landlocked salmon, Minnows, Lake Trout (togue) Golden shiner, Brook trout Fallfish (chub), Rainbow smelt, White sucker, Smallmouth bass, Hornpout (bullhead), White perch, Redbreast sunfish, Yellow perch, Pumpkinseed sunfish, Chain Pickerel, American eel, Landlocked alewife. Peter and Jane are terrific hosts of a beautiful spot on the lake. We did all the things. We hiked Mt. Blue to the top. We peddled the boat out onto the lake. We watched the sunrise and sunset on the screened in porch. We made fires and roasted marshmallows. We had a terrifically beautiful family vacation at this perfect little cottage on the lake.

Our stay was the most enjoyable relaxing time. It was spotless! Everything you could possibly need down to the littlest detail and the sweetest hosts you could ask for. It felt like home away from home. Beautiful serene location. We loved it and will definitely be back!

PERFECT
This unexpected gem was more beautiful than expected. The photos do not show, with accuracy, the thoughtfulness that has gone in to this place. It is cozy and comfortable, and very, very clean. Jane and Peter were great hosts. Friendly and thoughtful and not intrusive. Our time there was too short and we look forward to staying there next fall.

Wonderful!
Beautiful property, very private and peaceful. We loved every bit of our stay. The hosts were great and made it clear they were available if needed, but not in our way. We were very comfortable and would love to rent again next year earlier in the season to enjoy the lake more.

Beautiful Lakefront
Cozy cottage on a mid sized lake during a hotspell in early September. Hosts were very friendly and accomodating. We had access to swimming via a dock and inner tubes. The grounds were tidy with a badmitten net, croquet, ping pong, etc. They even took us for a ride on their new acquired pontoon boat. The location was ideal in that we felt secluded yet only six miles to Farmington, ME. We would like to go back next year.

Relaxing Lake Getaway
Jane & Peter’s lake cabin is the perfect location if your looking for a relaxing getaway! Right on quiet Wilson Lake with private access to the lake right out your back door. They provide absolutely everything you need to enjoy your time there, and are very responsive if you have any questions. They have a paddle boat and small battery powered boat if you want to go out on the lake and the large screened in porch overlooking the lake is perfect. If your looking for a quiet private relaxing lakeside getaway with everything you could possibly need you have found it here.

Just what the Dr. ordered
We were looking for a relaxed week away from the craziness that is our life this year. We got that plus so much more. Our hosts Jane and Peter could not have been more welcoming and gracious. We were availed every amenity that they had. Kayaking, peddle boat, and so much more. We were allowed to bring our 8 year old dog, who I must say loved it as well. We will be looking forward to our next visit to the lake house. Thank You Jane and Peter for making our stay a very pleasant, relaxing, and oh so very enjoyable week, one that we couldn’t wait to share with family and friends. You both are wonderful hosts. Thank you so much.
