We ended up not even staying there. We checked in, went to our room, the room was not even cleaned from the prior guest. We went back down to the front desk to get a new room, but at that point we had to go to a scheduled event we had tickets for, and at that point I didn’t even trust how clean our next room would be. So we headed back home.

I liked the idea that pets were allowed to stay. I hated that how run down the place is and that my dog got fleas while there and we had to get a treatment before we left fir her .

The hotel was nice, the breakfast was good. BUT the staff SUCKED, they were very unfriendly, could not answer any questions, very lazy would not get up from there chairs to be helpful. They were not knowledgeable about anything that proteined to the hotel. We ask for 2 bath towels for 4 days inwhich w never did receive. We ask every day!!! The pool is in dire NEED OF A GOOD CLEANING!!, other than that the room was nice nd clean and the breakfast was good. A lot of times there was no pool towels or fresh coffee. I am not one to complain butyou ask and I'm telling you how I feel.

Very disappointed in this location. The customer service at the front desk wasn’t very friendly or inviting upon arrival. As we walked to our room we noticed the hallways were filthy. Stuff all over the walls & floors. The elevator smelled musty & was also dirty. Upon entering our room we were hit with a very musty smell. The bedsheets had food stains on it. We requested new sheets & discovered while stripping the bed that the sheets/pillow cases also had yellow stains all over them. The mattress was stained & old. No mattress protector. The pillows were disgusting, they looked about 10 years old. There was no housekeeper on duty I guess so we had to change our own sheets. Our floors were not vacuumed. There was trash in the bin. Stains on the chair. The complimentary one time use toiletry in the bathroom was open & used. The bathroom had no vent system making it very musty in the entire room. The kicker though was the black mold growing in the shower.

We enjoy visiting Williamsburg, Virginia but we will not stay at this property again. While we recognize that COVID and the government subsidies are making it difficult to find good help, the poor desk clerk was in over her head and needed some assistance to take care of checking in the guests and fixing the problems in the rooms to the best of her ability. But there's no excuse for housekeeping not providing toilet paper in our room and for the wet carpet next to the bed which gave our room a musty smell. While we would have loved to change rooms, we were afraid that another room may be worse and difficult for the poor front desk clerk to handle by herself. Very dissapointed with this property, especially for the price we paid.

Everything was super clean, and the staff was awesome. Only complaints were that one of the elevators was continuously out of service, and that the breakfast selection was lacking. Other than that we had a great stay, and wouldn’t mind staying again in the future.

Pros: 7-11 is next door which was helpful given the breakfast selection at the hotel (breakfast consisted of individually wrapped muffins and small containers of fruit juice). Room was fairly quiet. Cons: Staff: The staff seems overworked -- or something -- I've stayed at more than 100 hotels in my journeys for work and vacation and have not encountered non-customer-oriented staff this bad. I'm used to staff not caring. Checking in the hotel clerk treated you like you were an idiot...which OK she did that to everyone that I saw so I didn't take it personally. Later, someone in my group bought some snacks and they said they would put it on the room tab. About 5 minutes later I got a call to my room that I needed to come down to the front desk right now because my card had been denied...she read the card and it wasn't even my card. So I sent my son back down with a $20 to cover the cost. No, we had locked up her computer and we needed to present a credit card or debit card ASAP. Most places would have comp'ed the snacks because their system wasn't working. Cleanliness: We did have a small dog with us. Upon walking into the room I saw my dog eating something off of the floor (it crunched). Not sure what it was but the dog is OK..so I guess it was ok. Towels: DIdn't have enough. Was told they ordered more from China but hadn't arrived yet (?) Other: You get 1 bar of soap. I've stayed at other hotels during COVID...this has been the worst.
