The room was dreamy… comfortable King Bed, with a balcony over the water (room 291 / Ocean Blues Adult Only section). The two coves had excellent Snorkeling! Dinner on the Beach for our 30th Anniversary was delicious and memorable!!! Janessa, our server, was so sweet and full of positive energy! Xavier, front desk Concierge was extremely helpful!

This resort is everything that is advertised - no disappointments whatsoever. Highly recommend upgrading to the Blues wing; the views are fantastic! The restaurants are all very good as well with a variety of ethnic delicious food.

All the staff are very pleasant and accommodating. The buffet breakfast is great. The small beach with beautiful clear water was lovely. It is a small hotel which advertises walking distance to town but we found it too far and too hot. They had a free shuttle. I would have stayed at a larger Marriott if I had known you can’t really walk to town. The room was fine with some minor issues like old hairdryer, dim bathroom light without an exhaust fan. It was clean though and the dinner at the blues Caribbean restaurant was good as was nightly music. All in all a good place but I am used to the larger branded places which are a bit more luxurious.

Make a reservation to their restaurant the Blue Caribbean at check in for the nights they have live music so you can sit inside. Don’t have to wake up early to go get a spot on the beach. Sleep in and still be able to find a nice spot to chill at the beach.

Great, comfy hotel. Restaurants and drinks are above what I would expect from a hotel. The two private beaches are amazing. We had so much fun snorkeling there after spending the day at other beaches on the island.

My husband and I stayed at Avila Beach Hotel for 7 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. The beach was lovely, with two lagoons full of fish to observe, and the staff were attentive and polite. I’d definitely recommend adding a breakfast package to your stay—the selection and quality were very good, and the omelette station let you order eggs just the way you like them. However, I’m glad we didn’t add dinners. While there’s more variety if you eat meat, as a pescatarian I found the options limited, and for vegetarians the selection and value for the price were not great. That said, I’d highly recommend the BBQ night at the Pen restaurant—it was excellent. A few things to keep in mind: this is more of a European-style resort, so be prepared to encounter people smoking on the beach. Smoking is also allowed on the balconies of some wings. During the first half of our stay we were lucky, but for the rest of the week our mornings and evenings on the balcony were less pleasant because of that unpleasant smell. Overall, we were happy with our choice of a hotel and would definitely stay again (but next time - in a non-smoking part :) ).

While the property is every bit as beautiful and excellent as others have mentioned, the house keeping was not great. We stayed in the Oceanfront Blues and did not have fresh towels for 3 days. We had to ask 4 times to get our room serviced. Maybe we were just unlucky.
