Due to the limited availability of public transportation, we recommend renting a car so that you can travel at your convenience and leisure. During the winter months, snow tires are strongly advised! The historic Whitefish Train Depot is an important stop on the Empire Builder line for Amtrak. The train arrives daily from eastern and western locations. Whitefish Mountain Resort is a 10 minute drive from the train station. The S.N.O.W. (Shuttle Network of Whitefish) Bus is practical and complimentary. The bus schedules are available on Whitefish Mountain Resort's website. Turo is an excellent alternative to traditional rental car agencies at airports with limited selection. Additionally, rental car availability is limited, so be sure to inquire beforehand.
