It was a nice place. The staff was very nice. Can’t say enough good things about them. The restaurant was closed due to Covid 19 concerns so I didn’t get to experience that.

The hotel's corporate owners have implemented such strict measures for COVID-19, that the staff is literally scared, and what few cliental they have are left feeling VERY uncomfortable. The rooms are stripped of all amenities for fear of infection - (no soap, shampoo, drinking glasses, hair dryer, coat hangers, etc, etc.) - really bad for a $250/night room. Room wise, we stayed in the "Loft suite" - - which was laid out by a moron. The bedrooms are upstairs, THE bathroom is downstairs. There is no light switch at the bottom of the stairs to illuminate the upper floor and visa versa to go down. So you climb/descend the stairs in the dark and fumble around for a night stand lamp. The bathroom is a shower only (and the hotel's Spa is closed due to the virus - so there is no soaking the bones after hiking in Montana). There is no door on the shower, so you have to get wet to get it start warming it up - then it sprays water out onto the floor and door (which is delaminating). The toilet ran continuously. The thermostat worked for 2 hours before the batteries died.

Byron, I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at Grouse Mountain Lodge. Our goal is to make sure all of our guests are comfortable and happy. We seem to have fallen short of that with you. Our core value is safety first and therefor we have removed all touchpoints from our guest rooms and public areas. We will again return them to the room when it is deemed to be safe to do so. In the mean time all amenities are available upon request. Please accept my apologies that this was not communicated properly to you at check in. I will work with the staff to ensure that we work more stringently on communication with all guests at check in. Until we meet again please have safe travels in all of your adventures.

It's kinda meh

Pros: It's clean and attractive.
Cons: Be attentive to the guests. Get a completely new waitstaff and replace the chef. Honestly, Chili's makes a better burger and salmon dinner.
Location: It's in Whitefish and very close to Glacier. Whitefish is a great jumping off point to so many activities.
Stayed for a week in July. It's a nice looking hotel, and the room is comfortable enough. The room is more Motel 6 level than the high-end hotel they seem to think they are. All the staff, but for 1 person I interacted with, were inattentive. They weren't outright rude, but I felt like an afterthought. The restaurant staff would see people waiting to be seated, but would walk by without a word. When you finally do get seated, the service is slow. Their food is EXTREMELY overpriced. It's so bland and unoriginal that we opted to go to chain restaurants in Kalispell. I won't be staying there again unless there is no other option.

We had a great stay at Grouse Mountain Lodge, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable, but had poor lighting and the walls were fairly thin so we could hear noise from the next room and the 2nd floor. The hot tub was excellent and was a great place to relax after a long day hiking or biking at GNP. The distance to the park is about 35-45 minutes which isn't too bad at all and there is a nice little hike about 1/2 mile from the lodge on Lion Mountain up to the Skyles Lake Overlook. The staff at the lodge were friendly and accommodating. The restaurant onsite is Logan's Bar and Grill, they have a fairly limited selection but the food was good although it is slightly overpriced. If you decline room service, you receive a $5 certificate to use towards the restaurant which is nice. I would definitely recommend eating at other locations in Whitefish/Columbia Falls where the food is Outstanding! My only grievance with the lodge is that no microwave is available in the room so if you eat out, don't expect to bring left overs back for later. When we asked if we could get access to a microwave, we were told they don't give access because they want us to eat (spend money) at the restaurant on site which is understandable, but I was shocked to hear staff actually state it in that manner. Overall, we loved the ambiance of this lodge and would recommend this to our friends and family.

Two draw backs; the shower facilities were very bazaar.....only one half of the shower was protected by glass. Water splashes all over the floor. Other issue was the outside drain pipe deposited heavy rain water right on top of the a/c unit making “popcorn popping” sound, woke us up at 4:00am ...hope it doesn’t rain while you’re there.

Dark room

Cons: Put better lighting in the rooms!!!! Please.
Location: Our main interest was mainly to visit Glacier Park. It took about 40 minutes to drive to Apgar Village area.
Our stay was excellent. Our trip was mainly to visit Glacier Park. It was a long drive to get to the Going-to-the-Sun Road but worked out fine for us. Room comfort is a 3 star rating is only because the room was DARK, with very DIM lighting. Is that necessary? This may not be a problem for most, but I like to be able to see!
