Great hotel, good breakfast, friendly staff, spacious rooms with very comfortable beds. Close to the West Entrance of Yellowstone Two negatives for me were 1) a sign with the itemized price of items should a guest decide to take the coffee maker, hair dryer, towels, wash cloths, and a few other items were listed. I found this to be rude, tacky and offensive. I understand that not all guests are honest, but, it really is tacky. #2) t the 2nd tacky thing i found was at check out and I was asked to leave my room keys, when I said I left them in my purse in the car,I was asked to retrieve them and bring them in. For the price I'm paying to stay in this hotel should be able to cover the cost of two keys cards.

When you pay for four guests, all four should receive the complimentary breakfast.

Overpriced for a low quality property

Pros: nothing
Cons: The facility was tired - not at all what I would expect anywhere in the country for this price.
Location: The reason you stay here is for Yellowstone National Park. Say no more.
I paid nearly $200 per night for two nights in late September. While this is a busy time of year, This is a hotel that should be priced in the $80 per night range. The facility is tired and the fresh coat of paint was not enough. The restaurant was closed. The lighting is cheap florescents everywhere. I have nothing positive to say about the facility. Later in the week, I stayed at the Holiday Inn which is a first rate property and my rate was about the same.

Remodeling

Location: Location and breakfast.
Big pile of ruble that we had to listen to as the machinery worked and look at. Hair dryer broke, vending machine broke. Breakfast was good. Staff were nice, Resturant only open for breakfast. Location was good I would give it a 2 in present condition.

Demolishing Motel

Pros: Nothing in particular. Came with a free, full, hot breakfast; sausage was terrible! Large indoor pool with hot tub
Cons: Nothing comes to mind
Location: Located just off the main streets, so it was quiet - after the demolition crews departed for the night
Nightmare in West Yellowstone - Picture this: we arrive to check into Days Inn and we see half the motel is being demolished!!! Fortunately the work crews stopped their dust creating work by 5PM. Would have been nice if Days Inn notified us ahead of time or gave us a discount. Over $200/night at a Days Inn is excessive, especially when part of the hotel is being demolished!.

Expensive, but that's W. Yellowstone

Pros: Comfortable room, fun pool. Quiet.
Cons: Adjust room rates so everybody gets free breakfast. That way there are no hidden expenses.
I didn't think this hotel was anything to write home about, until I spent the next night at the terrible Super 8 in Gardiner. The room here was quite spacious, even with 2 queen beds in it. The vanity sink is outside the bathroom, which I suppose is the mark of a more upscale room, but it's actually a bit less convenient when you are staying with children who go to sleep before you do. The pool was fun, there is an indoor waterslide for the kids. And it's off the main drag so it's pretty quiet. The lobby was comfortable to sit and do yellowstone research while my kids were sleeping. Breakfast is at the restaurant next door; be aware that breakfast is only included for the first two people, you have to order off the menu for any additional. Still it's way better than a "continental" breakfast consisting of breads and coffee.

Nice place

Pros: See above
Cons: Seemed very nice to me.
Location: Yellowstone!
The people were nice and very helpful. The food in the restaurant for breakfast was very good and the waitress was nice. The pool and slide were nice too.

Yellowstone Day's Inn - Keep trying to find an alt

Shabby and expensive. The only high point is that it is close to Yellowstone. Be prepared to be bombarded with notes and reminders about how you will be charged extra if you lose your precious electronic key, and many other comments. I've seldom stayed in a more unfriendly hotel.

1 Star Hotel at a 4 Star Price

Pros: "Free breakfast"
Cons: Major updates need to be made to this property
Location: Restaurants, shopping, gas stations
This was the worst hotel we stayed in during our week trip to Yellowstone and we stayed in 6 different hotels. It started with the check in...the girl working was by herself and the phone was ringing and she was very rude to the person calling. However, I'm sure she was stressed as she was the only one behind the counter. The room was horrible...we paid almost $500 for 2 nights here and it shouldn't have been more than $75 a night at the most. We were put in the older building which had the weirdest entrance I've ever seen. There was an enclosure built around the sidewalk part so the doors were not accessible from the outside so you had no idea where your room was. There was hair in the shower, the shower handles were about to fall out of the wall and the covers were very old and thin. It was old and grungy and is in major need of updates. They definitely take advantage of tourists with price gouging. They offered a free breakfast for just 2 people per night but it doesn't cover your drink, tax or a tip. It's at the Trapper's restaurant that is connected to the hotel. I would never stay here again.
