I stayed one night at the Equinox and I had high hopes that it would be amazing. It was not amazing. I was not able to reach anyone by phone or email prior to my stay to discuss dining options. When I arrived, I could not reach anyone from my room phone to discuss dining options. The line just rang and no one picked up. I called the front desk to ask if I needed a reservation for dining and the person who answered did not know. I was transferred to another line where no one picked up. When I just showed up at the restaurant they said they weren't accepting any walk ins. The gym is very nice but one of the 3 treadmills was not working on my 2 visits. My room was attractive but the bathroom seemed to not have heat and was freezing. I expected there would be a bathrobe and there wasn't. The sounds from the hallway (kids and dogs) were easily heard from my room. There was no hostess when I arrived at breakfast. When I ordered oatmeal at 9am I was told they were all out of oatmeal. My breakfast took 30 mins to arrive at the table. Poached eggs were overcooked and sausage was cold. I enjoyed the coffee in the lobby area. My sense is that they are short staffed and that more training is needed. The two servers I met were very nice but they need more of them. I think hearing all about the awards that this property has received set my expectations very high. I was just disappointed it did not live up to the hype. I would have been better off staying at a Hampton Inn.

The hotel was not the way I remembered it when I had been there years ago. The property itself looks a little underserviced by maintenance, the restaurant was a terrible experience, and the handicap door for entrance into the hotel was not easy to enter given there was a bad lip under the door.

We stayed in the Cottage Building at the 1811 house. There was a comfortable king size bed and beautiful wood burning fireplace. The problem was that there were no matches to start the fire. I went to call the front desk (which is located down street at the main resort) and the phone had no cord, it had been broken off. I called them with my own phone and requested matches and they said they would send someone right over. After over an hour, I had to call again. At that point we had realized there were no cups (plastic or coffee, although there was a Keurig and plenty of pods, no creamer or sugar) and the Tv didn't work. After playing around with the tv, we realized it didn't work because the cable to the modem had literally frayed and broken off. I told this to the desk when we called back for matches. The matches finally arrived, cups were forgotten. The light over the sink in the bathro also didn't work and there was no hair dryer. I explained all of these issues to the desk at checkout and they did waive the resort fee but if I was to go back, I'd stay at the main resort instead.
