Trekking the Overland Track. If you're hard core you can carry your own gear and camp, or if you're like me and appreciate a warm, dry bed and a good meal at the end of the day, you can travel with Cradle Mountain Huts and stay in gorgeous cabins. This picture was taken in April which was unseasonable snowy. #snow #hiking
The Overland Track is a 65km (40 mi) track through the World Heritage Area from Cradle Mountain to Lake Saint Clair through beautiful Tasmanian wilderness. Most people take 5-6 days for the hike through the diverse terrain of sheer mountains, temperate rainforests, wild rivers and alpine plains. #hiking
I left the hut alone; some of my walking group had already left, the rest were still getting ready. It was day three on my trek on the Overland Track, through the Cradle Mountain National Park. There was a bit if an early climb and at the top I had this view! Several of Tasmania's most remote mountains stood before me, including Pelion West, Mount Oakleigh and Tasmania's highest peak, Mount Ossa. #nationalpark #hiking
