this is our second time at this rental, great location to the southern trails, very quite and peaceful. grocery stores are very close. we will definitely stay here again in the future

great owners, and very accommodating! great location to my favorite trail system! Warrior, we hit 4 trail system from this home with ease. Warrior, Pinnacle creek, Indian Ridge and Pocahontas. plenty of grocery stores with in 2 miles. everything you need to enjoy the trails of WV. Thank you and we will stay here again for sure

This was a great little cabin in a great location for our weekend ride at Hatfield McCoy. Everything was clean and as described. We just made it in and out with our full-size truck and 20’ trailer, not sure you could manage with anything bigger.

Loved the little cabin on the hill! Everything was clean and comfy and I was able to get some down time sitting on the screened in porch during a thunderstorm. There are a couple areas that need some love/attention, but overall it’s a great place to stay.

House was very cozy and clean. Having a washer, dryer and ice maker was a bonus for us.We had plenty of hot water. We have a full-size truck and 14 foot utility trailer to haul our SXS. The roads to the house were narrow and steep but we didn't have any issues.The area was very peaceful. Would definitely stay again.

Nice little cabin, very private.. 5 minutes from Warrior trail head. 15 from pinnacle creek. Had everything we needed and more.. there was even spices and sugar there. Only thing that was less than ideal was we were only provided 1 roll of toilet paper for everyone for a 3 night stay, and internet isnt the quickest and is in and out.. other than that, no complaints.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The driveway is very overwhelming as it is not a straight shot and has many inclines that can be difficult with a trailer. If you want hot water for showering after the trails you may want to check first as the water heater continues went out and needed to contact owner on occasion.

Snug Cottage in the Mountains

Our visit to Welch was, unfortunately, occasioned by the passing of a truly wonderful man. We needed lodging because our friends in the area were already hosting guests attending the funeral. This cottage was exactly what we needed! The host graciously allowed us an early check-in to rest after our exhausting travel and provided specific items that we requested. The house itself was nice and warm, very clean, and offered little extras like shampoo, body wash, etc. The canister of coffee in the kitchen was especially welcome. :)

So many good things to say about this property. Completely updated with the screened in porch and wrap around deck. Not to mention the fact that is 5 minutes from the warrior trailhead. Pinnacle Heights and Indian Ridge trailheads are within an hour on the off-road trail connector route. The only caution is the driveway. I had a 12 ft landscape trailer and entry was was quite doable. However, There are many twists and turns to access the property and the parking area once you arrive is quite narrow. It would be impossible to park a 20 ft trailer without winching it around to leave the property. That being said, the property was absolutely amazing. I couldn't have found a better spot to enjoy the Hatfield and McCoy trail system.

Not good location if your pulling a trailer

The cottage itself was very nice. Parking a trailer was a nightmare. There isn’t enough room. There is another rental that shared the space and it blocked us even further. We had to unhook trailer and turn it around by hand just to leave. The road leading to the property is very narrow with cars parked on side of road, we barely made it. This property is not ideal for people coming to ride the trails that are pulling a trailer. The rental was very nice inside. Great decor and bed was comfortable. The TV was very complicated to operate. Some light switches didn’t work properly or not at all. We were told not to use the listed address and use a different one. The listed address is correct. Very confusing. It would be nice to have an address marker visible. It’s ran be a bigger company so you get tons of emails, but none of them personally from owner or any local contact.

The cottage was gorgeous! Exactly as described in the listing. Grab a bite at the Sterling Diner and unwind. The TV was huge, shower was spacious and the washer dryer was a plus.Be aware that it is VERY steep going up to the property. Our front-wheel drive car made it up with no issue, but I wouldn't chance staying here when there's ice on the road, unless you have all-wheel or 4-wheel drive.My only negative -- the microwave didn't work due to an electrical issue.
