We actually left after less than 2 hours of checking in! There was a bug on one bed as soon as we got in, the table and cupboard handles were gross and sticky and shortly after, I killed two ants on the other bed. My teenager was NOT comfortable even sitting on the bed, and wanted to leave right away, but I had food in the oven. There also was no baking sheet or oven mitt, which was a huge inconvenience for a place that offers an oven! I will be having a member of management contact me in the morning to hopefully issue me a refund. They said to also contact you at Expedia. We drove 2 hrs home, rather than sleep there! Not fun.

It was a good hotel choice right in the heart of Waterton's village, so everything was a short walk. People were very friendly and welcoming, and the room was clean and comfortable, and a good size for two. It was also convenient to have a restaurant on the premises.

The room and kitchen is small but cozy and clean. Would have been nice to know before hand that we needed to check in at Kilmorey Lodge. No access to ice machine but Kilmorey Lodge staff gave us ice. Kitchen had bare, bare necessaties....no salt and pepper, no paper towels, no dishwasher tabs, 1 frying pan, no serving bowls and no tray to cook things in the oven. Staff was friendly and did what they could with limited supplies on hand.

Everything was closed in town and boarded up. Pub and dining room were closed, had to go a few blocks away to find an open eating place. This sounds like the normal given the time of year but was not mentioned anywhere on the hotel listings.

The room was in good condition but the front desk was closed. The building where front desk is located was locked and closed. They left a note to go to a different hotel building to get the keys which was very inconvenient. They could have mentioned that beforehand.

We stayed one night at the Waterton Lakes Lodge Resort, but had to check in at the Kilmorey Lodge. When we first arrived, we found a big bug on the ground in our room. We didn’t think too much of it at first since it’s a mountain area, but around 1 a.m., I got up to use the washroom and found another huge bug crawling on my bed. That was unsettling — all I could think about was how I might’ve been sleeping with bugs without realizing it. The next morning, we went to the Kilmorey Lodge to talk to the staff. The older woman there, who seemed to be the manager, brushed it off, saying things like “This is a national park” and “You passed the gates — expect there to be bugs.” I was honestly shocked. I understand it’s a national park, but that doesn’t mean there should be bugs in the bed of a hotel room. After some discussion, they said they’d give us a 10% discount, but since we booked through Expedia, that couldn’t be applied. Instead, they offered a free breakfast at their restaurant. The breakfast was actually very good — big portions and a nice atmosphere — but the maple syrup smelled and tasted strongly like dish soap, so we couldn’t use it. Overall, the setting was beautiful and the breakfast was good, but the bug issue and the way the situation was handled really took away from what could’ve been a nice stay.

Great front desk staff - very helpful and positive, especially as they had to coordinate with a gift certificate purchased over a year previously. Beds were nice, resonable room size. Carpet badly needs steam cleaning or replacing, furniture quite dinged up, walls could use a repaint. Bathroom was very clean. As a local visitor, I didn't mind the inconsistencies in upkeep, but I would not recommend to someone I wanted to impress with a Canadian mountain hotel:( Waterton, of course, was amazing.
