We were told the hotel had a restaurant so we went and sat in the restaurant. Nobody came to wait on us and we later found out it was by reservation only. It would have been nice if one of the staff had stopped to tell us, rather than completely ignoring us.

Centrally located hotel. Walking distance to major attractions. I was impressed with the hotel staff. Everyone was friendly and responsive to questions/needs. I was pleased with the condition and cleanliness of the hotel overall. We had an issue with neighbors smoking and the desk manager provided us with breakfast vouchers to make up for that. Appreciated the gesture.

Definitely not what I expected from a Westin hotel

Pros: The Bell staff was fantastic. The beds are really nice and comfortable
Cons: The front desk and management staff could use a lot of training in customer service. The AC and plumbing needs to be updated/fixed.
Location: The hotel was close to a metro station, lots of great places to eat for breakfast and conveniently located to several attractions.
We booked two premium rooms and requested one room with a rollaway bed. When we arrived we initially were only given one premium room and another standard room and the rooms were on two different floors. They changed the standard room to a premium room when I pressed them although the rooms were several floors apart and they confirmed we had the rollaway bed in one room when we checked in but when we arrived at our room it was not there. After numerous calls and visits to the front desk, which included visits to the manager we received our rollaway bed 6 hours after check in. We also requested a microwave which they confirmed and it was never delivered. Throughout our weeklong stay we had constant issues with getting enough towels for all of us. The room was clean. The sink leaked so we had to place towels around to keep our stuff from getting wet and the AC didn't work well. Considering it was July, AC is important. No matter how many times we complained or requested anything, management didn't really seem to care.

Valet caused well over $500 worth of damage to our vehicle and refused to own up to it. When we asked to speak to a manger the valet employees gave us a card with a name & number on it. Then refused to speak to us or answer any of our questions. Spoke to Westin management and all they told us was "Sorry about that. But the valet company and Westin are 2 separate companies. You will have to take to the valet company about restitution." NEVER AGAIN WILL I EVER STAY AT A WESTIN IN ANY CITY OR STATE.

Expected Better

Pros: The convenience of downtown.
Cons: The thin walls and noise level
Location: You can walk to almost everything.
The hotel is in the middle of downtown and very convenient if you are touring DC. The most disappointing part of this hotel is the noise. The walls are very thin so at 3 am when my right neighbor was coughing uncontrollably, we woke up and heard it. At 5 am when the neighbor to the left had a 20 minute conversation, we could hear the conversation clearly. At 4 am when they were running something like a vacuum in the lobby, we could hear it. These incidents were so loud that it woke us up. The beds were comfortable and everything was updated, although the shower knozzle was hanging off the wall. The staff was polite and pleasant and overall the hotel was very clean.
