Nice Hotel Close with Easy Access to DC Mall

Pros: clean, easy to find, good location
Cons: na
Location: Assorted restaurants and pubs nearby, especially liked the Crepe Shop on 14th for breakfast, 8 min walk to the Metro Station, felt safe
The hotel staff including valets, clerks, and restaurant personnel were kind and helpful. The hotel was an easy walk to the Metro Station. We had a lovely room and enjoyed at evening meals in the pub style restaurant.

Great Hotel

Cons: Free wifi
The Westin has a beautiful open air feel with contemporary furniture, friendly staff, and modern rooms. I found the food prices outrageously high so I didn't eat here.

Good location but you hear everything!

Room was small but nice. Then our neighbors entered their room. We could hear EVERYTHING!! And they were just talking at normal levels! And we could hear everything in the hall all night. Staff was nice!

The 4th in D.C.

Pros: The convenience of its location. We could walk to most everything from the hotel. Lovely part of town.
Cons: Baggage handling. We had to carry all of our luggage down on the day we checked out. I called and was told that it would be a few minutes. Never ca
Location: As I said before, the hotel is in walking distance of most everything. The White House is just a few blocks away.
Enjoyed spending the 4th of July holiday in our nation's capitol. Although the weather turned bad on the 4th, we had a very nice time. Walked to most of the monuments and were inspired by the Martin Luther King, Jr. monument the most. Visited a wonderful United Methodist Church downtown DC. Mount Vernon Place UMC is a beautiful church and the staff made us feel very welcome. Hope to return in the future.

Crazy room change.

Pros: This hotel has a great location.
Cons: Valet. Checking in. Housekeeping.
Location: Everything is close by!
Loved the location of this hotel and the manager did try to fix what he could but I will choose an alternate hotel next time. When we checked in (just before midnight) they had given away our room with two double beds. There were four of us. They said they would comp the second room for our stay. Great! The next day we got back after touring the city quite late and couldn't get into room. They had locked us out stating they had rented our rooms and needed to put us back into the double room. I wished they had said that before I unpacked. So we moved. Our new room had no remote but when looking for it we did find dirty Starbucks cups under the bed. We complained to the manager who said our two rooms had in fact not been rented out. Ugh! Also, call for your car way early. Three of us stood there since they had lost the keys and it took a long time to find the car, every time. One night after waiting for valet to take our keys we gave up and left them with the front desk. They left us a complimentary cheese platter but I we did not come back to the hotel till very late and I didn't know how long it had been there.

Creepy McCreepy

The hotel staff was quite weird. They were a little awkward and uncomfortable to be around. The nicest person was the maid. We were stuck in the hotel during the blizzard with nowhere to go. Staff tried to put on a movie night with popcorn with mixed results. The rooms were clean, a little dusty. The breakfast/lunch menu is very expensive. Dinner was acceptable considering not much else was open. There were few amenities available, free wifi in the lobby (be prepared to pay a premium in the room), and there is a gym with newer equipment.

This hotel is conveniently located.

Pros: Location of hotel makes for ease of navigation and the staff is just wonderful.
Cons: The value of the bar facilities is not par with the offerings.
Location: This location is right where a reasonably fit person can access most of the haunts in DC. Six blocks to White House, walking distance to Smithsonians.
This hotel is great for a quick trip to DC for sightseeing. Staff is knowledgeable and professional. It is also tied in with most sightseeing bus tours and a person could easily take train to Union station and then tour bus to hotel or take a cab. Their fees for valet parking are too high to recommend driving into city if trying to stay on a budget. Overall, it is everything a Westin should be... clean, comfortable, and accommodating. Best beds in the market that are super duper comfy after a day of touring and walking. I recommend going on a weekend. DC is certainly more navigable during non workdays.

Long wait at check in

Pros: Hotel location was great near all DC attractions and national mall. Hotel was clean.
Cons: Check in process. I noticed at least two other customers had a similar issue and front staff did not seem to go out of their way to accommodate.
Location: National Mall
I booked this hotel same day of arrival, a few hours notice. Travelocity said it would take 20 mins for hotels to receive my booking info. However, when I arrived at hotel a few hours later they could not find my reservation and asked for confirmation email. The agent at counter took my phone to back office, came back and said they were having trouble finding my reservation and asked us to wait. Half an hour later he comes back again and asks for my email confirmation again, takes it to back office again, and comes back with no results. By this time I had already unloaded luggage from car and had circled the area to find street parking. It took another half hour for the manager to come out again and say that they are now verifying information and getting us checked in. The worst part about it was that we arrived around 10 pm after a long day of hiking in Shenandoah NP and were very tired. We were finally checked in and in our room past 11 pm! I am still puzzled as to why they couldn't have taken my booking info, let us into our room, and dealt with Travelocity on their own time. When I asked manager about it he said they needed Travelocity rate but that was included in email I showed them. He did try to make us happy by providing complimentary breakfast which was nice to have the next morning before museum touring.

Hotel was ok, staff inexperienced, service poor

Pros: Heavenly Bed!!
Bad to worse experience. I called the morning of our stay to confirm 1 night reservation for 2 king rooms, one for my husband and I and the 2nd for 19 yr old son. First attempt, no one picked up the phone. Second attempt, the hotel operator had to walk to front desk to have a clerk take my call. I was then informed that she could not find our reservation though confirmed with Travelocity and payment hold on my cc. After 2 hrs. Erin (clerk) called back and confirmed my reservation. At check in, I pre-arranged check in for my son who would be arriving to the hotel after midnight. His room was assigned without any issues. I also requested that the clerk swipe my card for any room charges he may incur. Upon entry to my room, I noted the 2 double beds and returned immediately to front desk to notify them of the mistake. I also verified that my son's room was a room with king bed. The clerk reassigned the correct room without an issue. My husband and I returned to hotel later that evening believing all was in order for our son's access. Presenting his photo ID in exchange for room key was all we believed was required. At 1:30 am I received a call from my son that he could not have access although he had presented his ID and that an additional $100 was required to secure the room. I was livid as I was required to return to the front desk at 2am to insure his entry. Hotel staff either in dark as to policy or one hand does not know what the other is doing!
